I just heard of a case where a boyfriend got into an argument with his girlfriend, killed her, dismembered her, deboned her flesh flushing it down the toilet, pulled her teeth out, tossed her head in a river, and the rest of her in the woods.

He will be eligible for parole in 14 years.

Yeah that's crazy. Hadn't heard that one yet but that is par for the course with the left. Reminds of a case decades ago where this guy in Cleveland was a killer, got caught, and sentenced to around 10 years in jail. All throughout jail he kept on saying when he got out he was going to kill again. Kept on saying it, repeatedly. Well, they let him out after like 7 years on "good behvior" and didn't even bother keeping an eye on him. After a short stint out they arrested him for killing several more people, just as he had continually promised for years.

Our criminal justice's system is stuck in the past, and like the Old Testament is using laws that aren't really very good for us.

Trump wants them seen doing their jobs. He wants public witnesses of what he was elected to do. Other promises are more slowly and partially kept or dropped entirely. He needs something done now.

This was never truly about getting criminals out.

This is about removing Illegal Aliens from United States soil.

Getting the criminals out is only Phase One.

And, if the Feds encounter other Illegal Aliens in the process, well, that's one less Illegal to deal with later.

Hell... the Secretary of DHS... Kristi Noem... said as much... months ago... so did the Border honcho... Tom Homan...

They are doing exactly what they SAID they'd do...

They are doing exactly what a majority of Americans VOTED FOR on November 5, 2024...

The percentage of Criminals vs. Non-Criminals currently in Federal custody doesn't matter in the slightest...

I'm a very firm believer that if someone is a career criminal then we should just give up and give them free room and board the rest of their lives, and that includes petty crimes as well. Why should my house be broken into by someone who has been arrested 20 times for breaking into homes and then they just keep on letting them right back out to do it again?

Putting aside the specious nature of that belief, you make it sound as though the announcement of their intentions makes what is being done OK. It doesn't. On top of everything else it's extremely unpopular.

The instructions to Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents explain in clear terms how to defuse dangerous encounters: Use “minimal force” when trying to remove people from cars. Issue commands in “professional,” “firm,” “courteous” voices.

“First step in arresting an occupant of a vehicle is NOT to reach in and grab him, unless there are specific circumstances requiring that action,” reads one internal ICE document providing legal guidance for uses of force during vehicle stops. It was reviewed by The New York Times, along with other training materials. ICE officials will thoroughly investigate any encounter, but “deadly force” is allowed only when agents believe lives are in danger.

The fatal shooting of Renee Good last week by an ICE agent in Minneapolis — and the quick reaction by Trump administration officials to declare the agent a hero and Ms. Good a villain — has put a new focus on whether federal agents enforcing President Trump’s deportation drive have been properly prepared for confrontations on city streets. The response of Mr. Trump and his top lieutenants to the killing has also underscored how they have embraced what is supposed to be a last resort under the written standards: using lethal force in self-defense.

Rather than encourage agents to de-escalate combustible encounters, as the agency guidelines emphasize, Mr. Trump and his lieutenants have provided tacit approval for more aggressive tactics.
