In a Republic, actually
“I got arrested twice for being a Latino working in construction,” says Leo Garcia Venegas, the lead plaintiff in a new lawsuit filed by the Institute for Justice challenging warrantless ICE raids on construction sites.

“An Alabama construction worker is challenging the Trump administration's warrantless construction site raids after he says he was arrested and detained by federal immigration agents—twice—despite being a U.S. citizen with a valid ID in his pocket.

In a federal civil rights lawsuit filed today in the Southern District of Alabama, Leo Garcia Venegas is seeking to stop "dragnet raids" that target Latinos like himself, without any probable cause besides their ethnicity.”

Arresting US citizens for no other reason than being Hispanic – classic rightwing authoritarianism.

Further proof that Trump’s immigration policy is motivated by racism, bigotry, and hate – having nothing to do with deporting criminals.

Are you saying you would be fine with it, if the man had been an illegal alien?

If this one-sided story is true, the man will get a nice settlement to ease his suffering.

This is Team Autopen's fault for flooding the country with so many illegals that mistakes will be made while rounding them up for rightful deportation.

It is the fault of santuary city officials for not turning over criminals found not to be legally in the country to ICE. ICE would much rather get them in jails than at job sites, but those blue city mayors won't allow that.

What else ya got?

^^^ Further proof that you actually support illegal immigration.

It happened twice? That sounds like there is more to it than meets the eye. The inconvenience of being lawfully detained then released because one cavorts with illegal alien invaders does not justify wasting tax dollars on frivolous lawsuits.

Is there a lot of "cavorting" on construction sites?
