I don't remember the 50s as being all that but I was pretty young then and didn't notice much of anything.

I remember the '60s and all of Vietnam war stuff.... The hippie era.... Woodstock..... Flower children...

Oh yeah now that you mention it alcoholism was almost accepted as normal.

Not all home bound women were unhappy by the way.

Though our current system does seem to be more equitable it was constructed by politicians in the 60s who decided that America wasn't generating enough revenue based on one worker per family.
