Putting aside Pete's personal shortcomings his only experience running an organization, both veterans groups a tiny fraction of the size of the DoD, asked him to step down due to various improprieties. My dad served with distinction in WW II. He was an artillery battery Capt. in the Pacific theater. That didn't make him qualified to lead the DoD.
