I Don't Understand Why Democrats Keep Calling For Free Speech

I was not arguing anything whatsoever re the really REALLY bad SCOTUS decisions that have come down over the years or the really REALLY good ones. And will choose not to participate in an attempt to derail the discussion by bringing those in.

I was arguing the Founders' intent. Argue that is you can.
I honestly don't think the founders envisioned a country like where we are now, where the country is being run by big money and pretty much nothing else.

I'm not the one crying on a message board because I can't shut up or execute people who do and say things I don't like. That's all her.
Why did you follow her saying you have an idea then laying out your personal ideas?

My dear I have TAUGHT that history again and again including at least most of the founding documents that went into the final version of the U.S. Constitution that was ratified. You won't win a debate on my knowledge of that so don't even try.
I'm not questioning your knowledge, but your judicious application of what you know to be true.
The bill of rights was a laundry list of what they thought most needed protection, in order to bring about and maintain the democratic republic they brought into existence.
They took all the wrongs of King George, and created rights to prevent anyone else from doing the same.

So if you think the founding fathers didn't want to not just allow, but protect people to speak out against their government, such as the peaceful redress of grievances, you didn't bring your history knowledge to the forum.

Trump's a criminal :)
Not really but he was never sentenced. Comey has a far better chance to be sentenced.
I know you may love "alternative facts" in your alternative world of MAGA reality. But Donald J. Trump was indicted tried, and convicted of 34 felonies.
Trump was sentenced
And on appeal those convictions were upheld

Trump was convicted on all counts on May 30, 2024
he was sentenced to an unconditional discharge on January 10, 2025.

The founding fathers actually built firewalls into the constitution to keep people like Trump from becoming president.

They feared someone like a P.T. Barnum using his fame and fortune, to beguile people into voting for them.
But the original constitution prevented this. Putting the state legislatures, and the electoral college, between the peoples choice for president, and the actual election of a president.

You not only are ignoring what I have argued, I don't think you even read it. Do have a lovely evening though.

It is/can be prosecuted
But that happens only when the government enforces the law evenly and equitable for everybody. So far as I know, nobody was prosecuted for threatening President Trump, MAGA, or anybody else on the right. But those on the right were persecuted, raided, indicted etc. for opposing/speaking out against government action.
