The purchase of our debt, to me is similar to a drug habit. Kicking the can down the road and not facing the consequences of our reckless spending habits encourages us to do more of the same. So ultimately the debt grows because we have an enabler that saves us from the results of our own irresponsibility making it possible for us to put off the needed changes. With those changes come pain.... And nobody likes pain but at this point pain is the only way back.... The necessary collateral damage of the road to healing.

I dunno..... I haven't seen any major changes of direction on The dem side. It could be that it's irrelevant but I don't think so. Recently they have loaded up the social finger wagging gun to lethal concentration. It's going to take several election cycles for that to wear off and they also need to shut up for a while and give people time to cool off.
