You get slapped with late fees, penalty charges, A huge increase in the interest rate, and a lowered credit score! Not raising the debt ceiling is not agreeing to more debt, it is agreeing to pay the bills for the money we have already Spent. To do it, they use the US mail, emails, and telephones to solicit investments. Well, guess what, not only are those modes of communication under no obligation to facilitate a criminal enterprise, it's also illegal. It's called mail fraud and wire fraud.
