I was in a command post with members of the Spec Ops unit Carter Hamm's commanded. We watched footage and reacted to the word that the Response Team preparing to go was told to stand-down, right before Hamm was relieved of duty for voicing his intent to send a team anyway.

The U. S. Military sent two special forces units, a Marine FAST Platoon and naval assets.

The Libyan Air Force provided air transportation for the American to Tripoli.

The Libyan Shield sent 50 gun trucks to the CIA Annex and provided security for the Americans when they evacuated the Annex and moved to the Benghazi airport.

The U. S. Air Force provided a C-17 Medical Evacuation Aircraft.
