I am trying to figure out why REDISTRICTING is good in California and Virginia, but bad in Florida and Texas.

LMAO!!! You cannot really be that blind, kid.

Another leftist dismissive deflective post which attempts the invalid ad hominem of attacking the messenger while never really saying what the real criticism is, thus deflecting from any counterattack.

Cannot be blind to W H A T ?

And kid implies a child-like mentality while again never qualifying what any basis of that position is? Is it possible to ever get an actual concise, adult-like definition of what the actual point is of the criticism to show us this isn't just more facile smugness by the Left to hide the fact that you actually have nothing?

It looks like the Dems lost the chess match.

24 seat swing in Congress? +12 Red, -12 Blue.

Ouch
It would be nice if such irregular re-districting would be put to a vote....TX and FL didn't do; CA and VA did.

But then again, for MAGA, the last thing you guys want is a fair election....

Simple really, CA, it works this way:
  1. Redistricting in CA and VA was designed to give democrats a clear advantage.
  2. But redistricting in FL and TX took away that advantage. Worse, it wasn't even expected of the usually-milquetoast republicans! But that Rat Bastard President Donald Trump put them up to it.
  3. And while democrats are pretty much all gerrymandered out and stand to even lose VA as well, the GOP still has room to gerrymander more, and this whole thing could easily blow up in the Left's face! Just imagine if the GOP GAINED seats in the House this Fall?!
  4. Then to add insult to injury, 7 out of 9 seats in motion in some southern state (Louisiana? No, it was Indiana), just fell to Trump-backed candidates.
Donald Trump, the EverReady battery that just gives, and gives, and gives.

Texas started it. Did you think we’d just sit back and let MAGA steal another election?
Texas started it? When? No other states ever gerrymandered before Texas? Saying that Texas started it is a big claim that needs backing up. Otherwise, it is a lie.

Texas and your pedophile started it and the aggressor party is typically seen as the bad guy. It's not that hard.
Texas did not start gerrymandering and no President has the power to gerrymander. Stop lying or provide some data to back up your claim.

All I know is that redistricting in FL makes the Ramen Redhead go away! :eek2yum:

Really? how many Republican congressional seats are there in all of New England?

and your forgetting about California. What happened in Texas was a reaction to what Democrats have been getting away with for years.
Don’t change the subject just because you’re losing an argument. Everyone knows Texas and Trump started this to try and steal another election.

This insane redistricting war only solidifies and exacerbates destructive tribalism that is killing us.

Bipartisan redistricting commissions would be a core part of fixing our screwed up "system".

But we just don't care enough. Or we just don't deserve it.
The nation needs to separate into a loose confederation and even change state and local boundaries. The intellectuals pushed this and lost control of its direction. People vote now for D and R. not even knowing what the people elected are.

Texas and Trump did it mid-decade just to steal another election.
Whether it is done mid decade, multiple times during a decade, or monthly, the purpose and outcome is the same: to draw districts that favor the political party in power. Connecticut, Massachusetts, Delaware, Hawaii, Rhode Island, Vermont all have been continuously gerrymandered to maintain 100 percent Democrat Congressional seats despite having anywhere between 38 and 50 percent registered Republicans.

The “Texas did it (gerrymandering) midterm” argument only goes so far. Either you support gerrymandering or you don’t. In either case, be consistent.

Looks like you are whining because Democrats responded to Republican Gerrymandering

Trump changed the rules because he knew he would lose Congress

Redistricting used to be reserved for after a census
Republicans are creating bedlam
