Kind of like what my brother does, only he paint color landscapes and still art from photographs.
Damn good at it too.

Check out this winner of the 2010 Art Prize competition here in Grand Rapids, MI

It's 30 feet long and in person it was incredible to look at. I had no idea it wasn't a photo at first. Very cool; people were just blown away by it.
