I get very uncomfortable when people start giving accurate prediction of "natural disasters." And I get even more suspicious when weather folks forecast very accurately the exact pattern of "natural disasters."
Yesterday, NBC's affiliate in Houston, Local 2 Houston, compared forecast of Hurricane Sandy days before Hurricane Sandy to actual path of and chaos by Hurricane Sandy: The figures for wind magnitude and involved States were exactly the same. Though a techie and very aware of the potential of technology, I am however aware that it is impossible for humans to predict to the T the exact path and strength of a natural storm. And the fact that Hurricane Sandy is colored with an alliteration titled - Super Storm Sandy, further pricks my curiosity.
Believe it or not, there exists the technology to devastate societies for mere difference in political and religious views. With Hi-Tech devices, snowfall, rainfall, floods, droughts, tsunamis, hurricanes, earthquakes, etc. can be engineered. Of course, such acts are outright acts of terrorism. Below are facts on 2008 Hurricane Ike in Houston, Texas, and 2010 Earthquake of Haiti:

About 48 hours after the Hurricane struck and rain poured, most of the streets in Houston were impassable due to flooding, about 90% of the city was without light, grocery stores and restaurants were closed and one had to walk on eggshells because people were on the edge. Approximately 100 hours after Hurricane Ike was first felt in Houston on the evening of September 12, 2008, the city is in despair and most buildings are still without electricity (even though several Electrical Technicians from various States are also in Houston). And the selective and systematic tactic employed by CenterPoint Energy and others in reestablishing electricity throughout the city is not helping at all! While we understand that medical facilities and gas stations should be at the top of the list, selectively lighting little portions of neighborhoods or one side of street and leaving the rest without electricity for more than 48 hours only adds to the frustration of the people!
Funny thing though: For about two weeks prior to Hurricane Ike (three weeks, some federal rescue team members corrected me), hundreds of federal agents calling themselves "disaster rescue team" were housed in four star Hotels allover Houston. When I asked some, about two weeks ago and later, why they were in Houston, they said for "disaster rescue."
"What disaster rescue?" I asked.
"From the Hurricane," they replied.
"But Hurricane Eduardo is said to be heading towards Louisiana!" I said.
Several of them shrugged and said "Well, we are here as disaster rescue team for the Hurricane."
"You are not here to blow up Houston, are you?" I asked, as I noticed the various groups were in town with various breeds of search dogs, as if they expected to be sniffing for our buried remains!
The above discussion took place 10 days prior to Hurricane Ike in Houston! What is troubling to me, besides the sight of desperate Houstonians, is that the "disaster rescue team" - made of agents from various States - were stationed in Houston and remained in Houston even while Hurricanes were elsewhere!
Why indeed were they or are they in Houston, Texas, and all housed in four star Hotels? Why did they come to Houston with search dogs?
From what I have witnessed, I am of the opinion that this Hurricane Ike (along with the "disaster rescue team") is a prelude to some major project! I think Houstonians are being used as guinea pigs towards some future project, just like they did during the plutonium experiment and with most medical scare tactic.
