Hunter won't do what Don Jr. and Ivanka did...why?

The Trump children sat through closed depositions and then answered questions from members of Congress. Hunter Biden refuses to be deposed under oath. Gee, what are you hiding, Hunter?
Hunter has a ton of evidence to hide.
And his Daddy's the president.....and nobody can make him do nuttin.

And to see the Democrats salivating over his advised move, just shows you how sick and corrupt they've allegedly become in trying to hide the possible Democrat corruption because it may involve their dear leader.

They did not have criminal charges filed on them, at the time.
Isn't it "convenient" that Merrick Garland's DOJ decides to file charges against Hunter right before he's supposed to testify under oath when they've declined to do so for years? Hunter doesn't want anything to do with giving a deposition under oath. He and his father have been lying about this all along. Their story changes with each new revelation.

He does not refuse to be deposed under oath. He offered to do so publicly again today.
Being deposed and sitting for a public hearing are two totally different things, Crepitus. At a public hearing, members of Congress have only five minutes each to try and get Hunter to explain what he did to earn all of those millions. At a deposition the questioning continues until the person being deposed either answers the questions or takes the 5th.
Watching various public hearings lately has led me to the conclusion that they are largely worthless. Witnesses like Mayorkas know that all they have to do is talk in circles for a few minutes and then the five minute time allotment is up and they still haven't answered anything. Wash and repeat. FBI Director Wray does the same thing. Claim it's an ongoing investigation and you're not free to speak about it...ramble on about that for a bit as you run out the clock. Wash and repeat.

in public he can create a sideshow with sound bites for you cultist to play off of,,

whats wrong with doing it in private??
Awe shit...

EVERYBODY DRINK!!!

Why not do it in public?
The way it is customarily done is you sit for a closed door deposition under oath and you're asked questions that you can't stall on. There is no 5 minute limit on the questions. You get grilled. Questions are followed up on. Responses are questioned. THEN you go to a public hearing and you get questioned on your responses to the deposition. If you get caught in a lie it's a Federal offense.

No, but just like with Hunter, it was an investigation trying to see if Dad was involved in corruption. He should have done exactly what the Trump kids have done. Answer the questions.
OK. It would have been nice, and you would like it. I get it. But being under indictment, facing 17 years, his defense to the actual trial is unknown, but would not be after getting him behind closed doors, and his personal liability, saw him make a different choice, (they can do nothing about) for his own protection. It is, what it is, and too late to change how the laws work. The way it works, he won't be any worse off for fighting the congressional subpoena, but might be much worse off in his own court case, if he had agreed to testify before closed door committee at this time.
