Ja Rule was in prison already for a gun possession charge, and reached an agreement with the IRS over 13 years of unpaid taxes.
Lauryn Hill - Only went to jail for 3 months, openly refused to pay her taxes.
Chuck Berry - went to prison for four months.

The fact you have to go back to the 1970's to find people who went to prison for tax evasion shows that Hunter didn't get special treatment.

The IRS doesn't want to send people to jail. They really want you out there earning more money so they can tax that, too.
