How should we respond to the Brussels attacks?

More communication is necessary, that's for sure.

Sooner or later, we will have one here. One thing that I think we could do better is to put the latest information in the hands of beat cops. Not the State Police Commandant, not the Chief of Police of Anytown,USA; not the local Sheriff but put the information into the hands of those on the streets.

I’m invested heavily (or was anyway) in disaster relief efforts for Maricopa County. Three of our campuses will be used as overflow hospitals for a biological, nuclear, incendiary, chemical or explosive attack (B-NICE was the acronym we used). Anyway, the CDC would drill us constantly—twice a year. We carried around these motorola pagers that were alpha numeric that listed the supposed threats that were known, etc… It was up the IC to respond (or not)….

It seems to me that we should be able to put that sort of information dissemination into every squad car’s computer so a beat cop can see that if there was nefarious activity in their area.

A BETTER question is 'How do we PREVENT attacks like the ones in Brussels and Paris?'

A good start is by taking what is going on seriously.

Securing our intentionally left wide-open border would be nice.

STOP bringing in 100k+ male-only military-aged men from a religious/civil-war torn part of the world notorious for producing terrorists, especially those who hate us..at least until we can figure out a way to fix a broken Obama security background check process that helped give a terrorist a Visa, welcomed them into the country, and allowed them to murder 12 Americans...would be another smart move.

NOT handing over thousands of weapons to Mexican Drug Cartels, guns used to kill 500+ innocent people to including 2 US Citizens, 1 in a terrorist attack - is a good idea.

Ending Federal law-violating Sanctuary cities who give safe haven to violent illegals who prey on US citizens would be a good move.

Enforcing ALL of our laws?!

Next time a foreign leader gives you the names of 2 terrorists who plan to attack your country, making an effort to stop them BEFORE they perpetrate the bombing that maims and murders your citizens is always a smart move.

Just a couple off the top of my head.....

But NOT WAITING and having to RESPOND - being PROACTIVE - is always better than waiting until an attack happens.
