How to get righties to wear masks

You wing-nuts want to hear the truth? We could care less if you morons don't wear a mask. Stick with the other right-wing idiots and die. We could care less.
Part of me feels that way but the more responsible part of me says that I don't want to kill someone who has not yet been vaccinated.

That part also realizes that the more virus there is in the country the greater the chance is for variants that my vaccine won't protect me from.

WEAR YOUR FUCKING MASK

Lol, you got your vaccine and still have to wear a mask? That's as stupid as being proud to still have to wear it.
Apparently the vaccine will not prevent me from getting the virus and spreading it...only keep me from becoming seriously ill or dying.

So yea...I'd rather NOT be responsible for killing someone else.

YOU however don't give a shit
Glad to see that you do not dispute my opening post.

What exactly was your opening post about?

That masks don't protect YOU? (primarily)

No. They protect others FROM you.

The vaccine protects YOU

Why didn't more people use their $1500 checks to buy a respirator that would actually protect them from being infected by the virus?

If masks are all so important, then why isn't the government handing them out by the case?

I'd be MORE prone to wear one if it was OPTIONAL and VOLUNTARY. As soon as you say they are MANDATORY, the deal is off.

TO BE HONEST, once this is all over, I'm going to start wearing a mask. I'll be going everywhere I can that it pisses people off, Banks, Federal buildings, anywhere, WEARING a full face covering, mask, sunglasses, hat, places that normally WANT your face exposed for security camera, etc., and I'll REFUSE to take it off.

I want them all telling me I CAN'T wear a mask, DEMANDING that I remove it! :21:
Okay, a closed casket funeral for you.

...The fact is more than 90% of Americans, including republicans BTW, wear masks when the go out in public. Another fact is masks didn't stop the winter spike in cases. That's reality.
And how much WORSE would those spikes have been WITHOUT mask-wearing protocols in-place in most public places in most jurisdictions? The sane ones, anyway.

BTW... let's not forget that those 'winter spikes' were brought on largely by Thanksgiving and Christmas and New Years gatherings where masks were not being worn.
Indeed had we NOT worn masks and mitigated the death toll would have been 2 million.

That's according to fucking TRUMP

Still waiting on the definitive study that PROVES which mitigation efforts were effective and which weren't. In the end, I think we're going to find most weren't.

I see that you have not disputed any of my ideas as presented in the opening post, I'm glad to see you are on board with my ideas.
How does one talk to a Trumper anti-masker troll...

With great reverence for someone who is capable of not just reading but also of comprehending an article soundly based on facts and the analysis of that data.

If lefties really want righties to wear masks, all that needs to happen is lefties just tell the truth if mask culture really is the truth. Instead of censoring all anti-mask information, just leave it alone and show why the anti mask information or articles are flawed. Transparency. The most important thing that I would need to see if I were to start wearing a mask is a reasonable explanation of how exactly masks stop a virus or droplet from passing through holes that are 1000 times larger. Show me how on earth this happens, and I'll wear a mask.

You wing-nuts want to hear the truth? We could care less if you morons don't wear a mask. Stick with the other right-wing idiots and die. We could care less. It's when you try to come around us that we care if you don't wear a mask. Get it now?

There, now you heard the truth. Let's see if you idiots can handle the truth.

IF, masks were as effective as you claim, why would my wearing a useless cloth mask matter?

Even if no such study ever materialzes...

If you have have two people walking through a COVID-19 ward...

And Person A wears a mask that blocks 90% of droplets from coming in or out of the wearer's lungs...

And Person B does not wear a mask...

And Las Vegas odds-makers were calculating the odds for which one is more likely to become sick...

Which one is Smart Vegas Money gonna choose as most likely to become sick?

The mindless alienation from most Americans appears to derive principally from persistent bum kissing of the Loser, and an inability to accept that, in matters of public health, the failed casino operator and faded reality tv performer's inability to acknowledge science is one of the reasons he is so poorly regarded.

Trump... publicly questioned the advice of his administration's medical experts, including the use of masks in public. After asserting he had complete authority over states' coronavirus restrictions, he then reversed course and largely left it to the states to develop their own reopening plans and find medical resources to battle the disease...
[H]is approval on the coronavirus situation was down to 42% as the number of new cases began to rise, and it fell to 36% by mid-August as Trump continued to dispute guidance from public health officials and suggest the threat from the disease was overblown. His final COVID-19 approval rating, in the latter half of October, was 40% -- and some Trump campaign officials blamed his response to COVID-19 as one of the main reasons he did not win reelection...
Until recently, Americans gave their governors significantly higher ratings than the president and the CDC for their COVID-19 performance. The change is partly due to lower ratings of governors in recent months, and partly owed to Biden's much higher ratings for communication and response than Trump's. Biden's actions since taking office have earned him higher marks for communicating a clear plan on COVID than his predecessor

Joe Biden's COVID Response Wins Bipartisan Support
The Republican Party's inability to ignite a grassroots backlash against the $1.9 trillion Democratic Covid relief bill moving toward final passage underscores the GOP's transformation into a coalition energized primarily by cultural and racial grievance...
Indeed, throughout the legislative fight, congressional Republicans and conservative media outlets like Fox News appeared more interested in focusing attention on peripheral cultural issues, like whether Dr. Seuss had become a victim of liberal "cancel culture."...

Their petty, grievance-driven agenda typified the discredited former guy, and many appear incapable of recovery. Will Americans support Biden's taking on the former guy's fake promise to rebuild the nation's infrastructure, or will they go on a rampage over Dr Seuss?

Daniel Cox, a research fellow at the conservative American Enterprise Institute, who recently published an exhaustive national survey of attitudes among GOP voters. "Traditional conservative principles, whether it's commitment to a strong national defense or support for limited government, do not animate Republican voters."...
Polls have consistently found significant majorities of Americans support the Covid relief plan
with Gourevitch's firm releasing one survey last week that showed it winning support from more than two-thirds of adults, including a plurality of Republicans...
The safest bet is that so long as the GOP remains fixated on cultural and racial grievance, Democrats will feel confident pushing forward the most aggressive expansion of government's role in the economy since President Lyndon Johnson's Great Society during the 1960s.
Cry baby whining about peripheral concerns is what diehard devotees of the former guy seem hellbent upon doing, but the nation is recovering, and most Americans approve of the priorities.

No, the ones being worn by the general public are totally worthless.
Your opinion is noted, but your credentials in the field of public health remains unexplained. You could well be a failed casino operator and faded reality-tv performer with no medical expertise whatever, just spouting nonsensical dogma.

A hardcore ilk, driven by ideological zealotry, are vehement in their denial of empirical data, despite the minor inconveniences involved in offering some protection to one's fellow citizens, friends, family, and self. The zealots are not amenable to reason.

A meta-analysis of 172 studies that looked at various interventions to prevent the transmission of COVID-19, SARS and MERS from an infected person to people close to them. The analysis, which was published in The Lancet on June 1, found that mask wearing significantly reduces the risk of viral transmission.
One wonders if the fanatics' crackpot notions extend to other medical disciplines.

E.g., if they were beset by sudden attacks of violent projectile defecation, would they consult a gastroenterologist or Wayne "Fancy Pants" LaPierre?

You wing-nuts want to hear the truth? No one gives a rat's ass what you care about. I know your religion of leftism tells you that your opinion and approval are hugely important to everyone, so that you can run around passing judgements on things, but the actual truth is that no amount of preaching the gospel of leftism will ever make you matter.

I suggest you try learning to care about something other than controlling other people.

Nope. No mask no vaccine.

...Yet the CDC said mask wearing had a minimal effect on infection rates. Someone posted a thread on it today..
Wake me up when you find a link.

That might have been me, I posted that information. Actually, there are two articles about the CDC and the uselessness of masks. I included a couple of others for your reluctant edification.

Europe's Top Health Officials Say Masks Aren't Helpful in Beating COVID-19

The top medical experts in the world can’t decide if masks are helpful in reducing the spread of COVID-19 or just make things worse.

Thursday, August 6, 2020

Denmark boasts one of the lowest COVID-19 death rates in the world. As of August 4, the Danes have suffered 616 COVID-19 deaths, according to figures from Johns Hopkins University.

That’s less than one-third of the number of Danes who die from pneumonia or influenza in a given year.

Despite this success, Danish leaders recently found themselves on the defensive. The reason is that Danes aren’t wearing face masks, and local authorities for the most part aren’t even recommending them.

CDC Study Finds Overwhelming Majority Of People Getting Coronavirus Wore Masks
OCTOBER 12, 2020 By Jordan Davidson

A Centers for Disease Control report released in September shows that masks and face coverings are not effective in preventing the spread of COVID-19, even for those people who consistently wear them.

A study conducted in the United States in July found that when they compared 154 “case-patients,” who tested positive for COVID-19, to a control group of 160 participants from health care facilities who were symptomatic but tested negative, over 70 percent of the case-patients were contaminated with the virus and fell ill despite “always” wearing a mask.

1/25/2021 Masking the Science

[…]

In truth, we wish masks worked. If they did, it would be a cheap, and easy way to control the spread of Covid. The idea that they protect not only their wearer, but also those people around them seems noble. We wished masks worked because citizens are spending billions of dollars on them.

We wish masks worked because most Americans wear them now. Telling them it was unnecessary will not make them happy. We wish masks worked because they have become a symbol for virtue and social responsibility. Anyone who doubts their utility is personally attacked; as though they don’t believe the viral pandemic is real, or don’t care about those who die from it.

Flip-flop Fauci reverses—again—on double-mask-wearing

Whatever Dr. Anthony Fauci says today may be different from what he says tomorrow, but he might come back to what he said yesterday in a day or two if he feels like it.
by Carl Durrek February 1, 2021 in Healthcare

If there’s one thing that’s certain about the coronavirus, it’s that Dr. Anthony Fauci reserves the right to change whatever he’s said in the past to fit whatever narrative he needs to push forward in the present. His reversals have become so common that it’s almost impossible to keep up with his current agenda at any given moment.

Many Studies Find That Cloth Masks Do Not Stop Viruses Like COVID
By Lisa Mair
NOVEMBER 23, 2020

A thorough marketing campaign for the use of low-quality masks has convinced millions of people that masks will reduce COVID-19 spread, but do they really?

Much Recent Pro-Mask Research Is Deeply Flawed

The only statistically significant data on preventing viral spread is for N95 masks worn indoors when one can’t socially distance, which is not the type of mask required nor typically worn by the general public.

CDC Claims Mask Mandates Don’t Have Statistically Improved Impact on Spread of COVID Than No Masks At All – Will Therefore Continue Pushing Masks

By Joe Hoft
Published March 7, 2021 at 8:15am

The CDC recommends wearing masks after their study showed that related to COVID, the results of wearing masks were statistically the same as the results when not wearing masks.
