I'd love to calculate the money to be made off internet sales tax and lower the effective sales tax for everyone by that.
I think we have a couple issues though. We could probably tax all the Bank Wire/Paypal/Visa/Discover transactions we wanted to. There are a couple problems though.
A big one is I wonder how many folks would flee to bitcoins or something similar to save 8%. Once again all internet traffic is traceable, but man, that is a pretty far step.
Perhaps we could not enforce any laws on transactions which avoided sales tax and let the buyer beware.
What other problems are we looking at?
