There are 3 million federal workers. If the 10,000 DOGE employees identify 20% of positions that can be eliminated because they are redundant, that is 600,000 gone.

Here’s a quick way to cut the compensation expense of the federal government of $271 billion by 10% right off the bat: hours are cut to 36 hours a week from 40 at a 10% pay cut. (As it is, the “workers” barely put in 20.)

They will get 3 months’ notice of this change. Anyone who doesn’t like it is free to find a job in the private industry, where they will put in 50 hours a week of REAL work, with lesser benefits and possibly a lower salary.

There is no Department of Government Effenciency, and there isn’t going to be one.

I realize that Trump disciples are stupid enough to believe that their fuhrer can just declare one. But that’s not the way it works. New Federal departments require acts of Congress. And more structure than blustering in front of the tv camera.

I also realize that Trump’s cultists are stupid enough to think bluster for the TV camera is real. They don’t pay attention to anything else.

As long as Trump can put on his ugly, racist, clown show, they’ll cheer.

Trump put Musk and Ramaswammy “in charge” of a fictional agency to entertain the Fox audience, and to sideline Musk and Ramaswammy. Neither of whom will have any real role in the incoming Trump regieme.
