Nobody in their right mind can compare atrocities on both sides during the 19th century to a shooting by a deranged person in the 21st century. How far back in the 19th century do you want to go? Aug 13 1813 a band of Indians attacked Ft. Mims Ala killing 400 and taking 250 scalps.
In 1833 Osage tribes attacked a Kiowa camp in SW Oklahoma and 150 Kiowa were brutally slaughtered.
In 1862 during the Civil War a detachment of "irregular union Indians" killed 240 Tonkowa Indians.

That's what I was going to say. After more than 200 years of incessant warfare with various tribes and atrocities aplenty, it's hard to fault officials back then for jumping to conclusions when another band of Indian's left the reservation.

Sandy Hook?

You have the wong perspective on this. The Soldiers action at Wounded Knee are more akin to the Soldiers actions in the Haditha Massacre in Iraq. Where a few shots were fired at the soldiers and the soldier then, fearing for their lives, shot everything that moved. Killing men, women and children.

Of course that's what happens in war.

Sandy Hook was not the same.

No one is gong to confiscate all the guns.
