How much ya'll paying......

Right now, Walmart is about the cheapest place, though the last 2 times I've been there, they were all sold out. And I think our prices are about .50 cents more per dozen......though prices are changing daily
That reminds me of a great joke.

Customer: "How much are chickens today?"
Clerk: "Forty-nine cents a pound."
Customer: "They're only thirty-nine cents a pound at the store across the street."
Clerk: "Why don't you buy them there?"
Customer: "They're all out of them.
Clerk: "When we're all out of them we only charge twenty-nine cents a pound."

A small flock has less stress so all nine will likely produce.

It can also depend on the breed and age of the birds. First year is best and every year after that, they slow down until around 4 or 5 years old. Alot of hybrid birds can lay an egg everyday, year round for a couple of years. Heritage breeds average around 300 eggs in the first year, then a few less every year thereafter.

Yesterday I went to Walmart to check things out. Prices on most stuff has went up atleast a few cents since the last time I was there, about 2 weeks ago.
One of the biggest jumps in the last month or so is fresh mushrooms 8oz pkg was around $2.50 and is now $3.49 and 16oz is $4.89.

Crazy, just crazy
