Why Do Republicans Now Think It's Okay To Pay More For Everything?

The disruption of supply chains due to COVID contributed to inflation. Messing with supply chains through tariffs will be a costly lesson for Republicans if it too causes higher prices.

Why should the USA accept disproportionate tariffs that damage our manufacturing base?

The mass delusion has now convinced many of those same supporters that they just have to tolerate rising prices for staple products, even though they likely would’ve rioted against paying more than $9 for a dozen eggs under a Democratic president.

For decades, conservatives have obliviously voted against their own interests when supporting candidates who cut social services and enact tax policies that hurt red state residents more than the rest of America. But under Trump, voting against their interests has become a point of pride—because as long as they please their cult leader, all is well.

This is just so absurd. Until just two days ago (March 14), we were still operating under Biden's last budget. Trump has been in office for less than two months. Most of Trump's tariffs have been delayed until next month.

When the tariffs do kick in, they will bring in billions of dollars in revenue and will make it easier for American businesses to operate because they won't be facing unfair foreign competition.

And, FYI, the prices of eggs and gas in my area have been dropping.

How about we wait a few months and see what happens? It is a bit early to be making sweeping judgments about the economy when Trump has only been in office for seven weeks and when most of his economic policies haven't taken effect yet.

Trumps first term with tariffs had inflation of 2.3, 2.1, 1.9, and 1.9.

I’ve never had a problem paying more when doing so supports America First/America ONLY ideals. I don’t invest in stocks so that’s not an issue for me.
