According to this page here, Arizona and Hawaii don't even bother with the time changes. The reason given for Arizona is understandable, but at the end of the day, no pun intended, what does it matter what time is on any clock when the sun is going to rise and set whenever it is good and ready to?

God bless you always!!!

Just another day for me. I got up at the usual 2:30 - 3:00 AM to set the clocks, check my email, feed the cats, down a shot of vodka, and start breakfast. I don't have to go in to work until 1 PM so there's plenty of time to catch a nap.

Maybe we need to study places on the eastern parts of times zones, with those on the western parts, and see how they compare with crime and other parameters?

School and work start times and end times make sense to adjust to the lighting.. At least to me.

Well Foghorn, given you are nonsensical 99.9% of the time I'm not a bit surprised.
Im guessing you never stood at a bus stop in pitch black dark with your kids. You'd have to find a woman first and that aint happening. ;) Right 1stAsshat?

Bus stop?....That would imply that we were stupid enough to send our kids to public schools.

You seem to be what we have come to expect from a public education.

When you live in neighborhoods like mine the public schools are rated 10. Dumps like yours you might need to send them away from the cesspool. My oldest is a newly minted ER doctor, youngest in college still. How are your fake kids doing in your head?

I have a proposal that came to mind again when they were covering the attacks in Iran and showing the time difference. Most people do not realize that Iran's time zone is UTC +3:30. They are 3 and a half hours plus the difference between the Prime Merdian time zone known as UTC or what was Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) in the old days.

With the Daylight Savings Time shift this morning, Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) is UTC -4 meaning Iran is 7 hours and 30 minutes ahead of EDT. For example, Iran is 6:23 pm local and it is 9:53 am CDT where I am.

Why don't we just shift back a half hour in the fall of 2026 and end daylight savings time forever?

Cut the shifting of an hour in half and call it a day?

What do you think?

Another reason you mistakenly think private schools are cheaper in terms of education because they don't provide bus service.

If time change was eliminated, would you prefer Daylight or Standard Time?
I like the sun setting later in the day, but if that means that kids leave for school while it is still dark outside, their safety should come first.

God bless you and them always!!!

I work outdoors based on sunrise.
Switching the clocks twice a year keeps me out of peak rush hour.
I would actually hate being locked into one or the other with the extreme difference in amount of light between winter and summer.

I think people just need something to whine about.

Creative but I feel that would mess us up worse on the world stage. I have conference calls with other nations and the 30 min thing seems a pain. Maybe we can just fix the sun?
