How much do you pay for health insurance, and does Obamacare impact cost?

I'm real lucky, mine is approx.$80 a month for PPO, basically equal a "bronze" plan. The "company" kicks in the rest of the premium. Most years the plan contributes to an account, say $900. With accumulation, it would cover the max out of pocket and more, because I tend to avoid visits. It has been affected by Obamacare (documented), such as 70/30 Vs what was 80/20...............On another note, I just had a conversation with a guy who is self-employed. He pays $2800 a month for family of five. Wholly shit. That's near 70% my take home. I suspect he's wealthy and picking up the tab, so to speak.
It's tax deductible for self employed...

Great analysis clowny. So because it's "tax deductible" the Govt will "let me keep" that 24% of MY dollars so I can still pay $2800 a month. What a ******* great deal huh?

I'm real lucky, mine is approx.$80 a month for PPO. Covers nothing short of $1800, less a few check-ups and teeth cleanings for free. Dental up to $1,000 and no glasses. Oh you're paying for it. Your employer is likely scrimping on salaries and most everything else to afford the premiums..

Zero...and no the ACA doesn't affect me...
Of course it affects you. Try to figure out why. If you can't, I will explain it.
Please elaborate, just so I can know...
Hospitals, the drug companies, medical device companies all signed on to Obamacare because they knew they were getting funding to improve care and provide better service. Without Obamacare, that flow of money is gone.

People who no longer have healthcare will use the Emergency room at 10 to hundreds of times the cost of going with an insurance provider. That was what was happening in Romney's state which is why Romney and the Heritage Foundation came up with Romneycare in the first place. Romneycare became Obamacare with some major tweaking.

With more people going to the Emergency room, the cost of healthcare will become higher for everyone, not just people on Obamacare.

Let me know if you need further explanation. Will be happy to provide.
FYI ... Medicare patients still go to the ER for bouts of diarrhea , tooth aches and pain pill refills...just so you know.

$420 per month for the wife and I through my employer's plan. It has increased sharply the last few years as our company wants to avoid the 40% Cadillac tax Obamacare calls for on plans that are too generous. That tax has been pushed back a few times, think it stands to be implemented in 2020 but is most likely one of the 1st provisions of Obamacare to go.

In 3 weeks my cost will go down to $0 as the company pays the medical insurance costs for retirees.

I pay the IRS fine for not having insurance for me and my family, i've never have had insurance in my life I've always paid out-of-pocket. Insurance to me if it's mandatory is nothing more than legalized extortion. Something I will never use…

That is the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

How exactly do you, with your human family I assume, know that you won't ever need insurance?

Is that what your company told you? Because that makes ZERO sense.

Cadillac plan is defined as one that in total costs 10k+ a person and 27K+ for family plan.

By going to CHEAPER, non-cadillac grade plan company should have been able to lower what your monthly rate would otherwise have been.

Those numbers you provide are the employer's share of the price on average per individual, not the employee's cost. Thus to become a non-Cadillac plan the company had to lower its contribution towards insurance costs.

How do you feel that you are lucky if you pay for insurance, that does not cover you unless you spend over $1,800.00, this seems retarded to me. Like you. You also forgot to mention how many thousand dollars your deductible is, as some have $7,000.00 dollar deductibles, which in your case means that you have no insurance unless the bill is over 1,800.00 and with the deductible you would be paying 100 percent of the bill, until $7,000,00. You are a complete ******* retard, as the only people getting coverage for what you pay are Mexicans. Now expand this to an entire family and you..................MORON ALERT

OBAMACARE IS DEAD ALREADY so don't give the credit to Trump

Nope, it is defined as a total premium cost of a plan and the point is to penalize no-deductible plans, not make you pay more for premium.

so what?

You do realize a savings is always better than a deduction don't you?
So he can deduct 33K off his income he nets a tax savings that is far less than that

So would you spend 33K to save a few grand in taxes or would you rather have the 33K in your pocket?

I just don't want to live that way, I pay for everything out of pocket have for 20+ years. Insurance gives me no assurance. Anyways there's no guarantee that if i have insurance they are going to pay for anything, I don't trust them fuckers.

Obamacare specifically addressed those fears. Because of the standards it put in place, insurances have to, by law, payout for reasonable medical care anything above your deductible.

Prior to Obamacare some companies were selling shady insurance products that were cheap up-front but left people broke when shit hit the fan.

I see no reason to trust the federal government whatsoever in any capacity. I look at them as an enemy. Specially when they combined healthcare with the IRS what kind of fucked up shit is that the motherfuckers should burn in hell...

No, it is healthy to have no trust in the federal government. Because in the long run they are not your friend. What the **** does the IRS have to do with the healthcare?

It sounds like your Fed pre-occupations are at this point interfering with your rational, practical decision making.

I suggest you lay off the politicking for a while...that anxiety issue just may ease up.
