Criminal histories and documented mental health problems did not prevent at least eight of the gunmen in 14 recent mass shootings from obtaining their weapons, after federal background checks led to approval of the purchases of the guns used.

This is a very informative article, and it's non-partisan. It highlights the obvious fact that the NICS federal background checks systems must be improved. Even if a universal background checks system is approved, the system won't be effective until all relevant information is fed into the system.

What more do you want? They did not get flagged because except for the Virginia Tech guy they had not done anything that would flag them. And in Virginia's case they refused to provide mental decisions to the Fed.

Progressive leaders kill more of their unarmed citizens in a day than US Criminals do in 100 years

Why do your proposed gun grabbing laws never actually prevent the shooting it's drafted in response to?

omg, NOW they are called, MASS SHOOTERS.

now if they had been a Muslim or Black person they would called, poor sick and misunderstood people. oh wait, he was those

Police and speed limits don't stop all speeders - but they sure as hell help keep us safer. Same with vehicle laws and enforcement. You rigid gun nutters are hurting all responsible gun owners.

instead of speed limits and law enforcement, Let's use health insurance...get my drift now. Now ya know why I'm obtuse.

So what you're saying is that the system doesn't work in the first place and there's no need to create new laws but a pressing need to fix the system.

*****CHUCKLE*****

:)

if the loony had used a pressure cooker,,what would Obama have said during the speech?
well since the shooter was obama's son; he probably would blame the white zoning and permit committee for allowing a school to be built there

The second amendment is NOT about hunting. The so called Assault rifle is EXACTLY what is protected by the 2nd.

The 2nd Amendment is as much about hunting as it is about personal protection - because it involves our right to firearms.
