How many of you ignorant commentators made fun of my electricity generation shortage.. due to AEs?

He misses the biggest reason not to build wind turbines and solar. The oil used to manufacture wind turbines and solar panels.
The USA's largest solar and wind manufacturing plant is this chemical plant.

Even if I get the numbers wrong you STILL PROVED ME CORRECT.

Most energy is consumed by industrial and commercial uses. Retail barely scratches the surface....

Try again.

You were 50% too high on our energy use. 100% too high on our GDP.

Other than that, you were right about.......what?

Yes, we are more efficient than most.

Did you ever find out what an "order of magnitude" is?

That's one of the most ridiculous things I've heard here. The USA is the most energy efficient nation on the planet. We use the newest tech everywhere to reduce costs. The USA uses 25% of the worlds energy supplies but contribute over half the world's economy.

We regularly use low energy LED lights and fluorescent lights. Air handlers are lower energy than ever before. No other nation does as we do.

So....try again. We just need electricity generating plants.
I'm not comparing America with the world. We waste enormous amounts of energy. This is just one measure of that waste.

"Based on new research, the North American Insulation Manufacturers Association (NAIMA) estimates that roughly 90 percent of existing U.S. homes are under insulated, wasting energy, money and decreasing comfort for homeowners."

It's not only homes but commercial buildings of all kinds as well.

It was not a waste of energy until we started installing wind and solar plants. Now they are lying and telling us it is our fault we don't have enough electricity because we need to insulate.

American buildings have always been poorly insulated. We could spend the entire economy for years upgrading for energy efficiency. The renewable energy resources we have in abundance are generally wasted.

How was I too high on electricity useage when I supplied the links?
According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, the United States generated approximately 4,178 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity in 2023 at utility-scale facilities, which is roughly equivalent to 4.18 trillion kWh.

Key points about US electricity generation:
  • Source breakdown:
Around 60% of this electricity comes from fossil fuels like coal and natural gas, 19% from nuclear power, and 21% from renewable sources.

  • Small-scale solar:
An additional 73.62 billion kWh was generated from small-scale solar photovoltaic systems in 2023.

In great news, Trump is reviving the Keystone Pipeline! Oil pipeline BITCHES suck it you Dem morons!
keystone takes oil from canada. Would they send oil down that pipe with a 25% tariff slapped on it?

keystone pipe oil doesnt stay in the USA.

Hard working blue collar union pipeline workers say Democrats are assholes!

There is no 'clean energy'

~S~
Hydro power is very clean. And it's stable, baseload power.

Geothermal has the potential to be the same way. They aren't suitable for everywhere- but where they do work, they should be built.

For once, I wasn't correcting your bad math..........
