When it comes to whipping mom made us go cut a green oak switch from our trees and then she would stripe us with it. It was a just punishment never as abuse. The few times I got whipped it was fora good reason.

That's just what my mom did. Little switching of our legs. My brother and I had to go get the switches and if it was just a twig, we had to go back and get a thicker one. That smarted as it was usually summer and we were in shorts. Dad would stand there, watching mom lightly do our legs, so we wouldn't run away. Mom was such a piece of cake, she never would have switched us without his Marine presence and dictates.
