I don't support the same policies in DC that didn't work in Caracas, but I also don't have the power to do much about it since I have no influence.

As to how we avoid being Venezuela writ large, the answer is we don't. Too many Americans who vote themselves a living think it'll be different and that the laws of economics just don't apply here. They're wrong, but c'est la vie.

I've been following Venezuela for years on end and monitoring its supporters especially those who embraced Chavez. I personally like knowing who our enemies are within.
