I think Joe will try to stick out his first term, knowing how bad the optics would be, but step down shortly into his second.

Early on Joe said he would only serve one term. Then he changed his mind. Personally, I think he will be put on a very short leash. If he does not fully embrace the far left socialist agenda they will get rid of him. There is no love for Joe in the Dim Party. No one in the Dim Party wants a moderate centrist. Joe will need to go full on Commie. If not, he does not survive imho.

After that he will probably be asked to step down or be forced to step down.

Assuming he doesn't die, the Democrats are not going to let him step down until he's completed at least two years of his term, so that Harris can theoretically run twice on her own. Frankly, I don't see any reason they wouldn't keep him as a figurehead for the full four years, if they can. Why should the people running things put themselves out front as a target? There's a reason figurehead leaders have been such a popular idea in politics throughout history.

The very fact she label Biden as racist or at least in support of racism. That she laughed about prosecuting pot violations whilst partaking in it herself. Gabbard was not wrong in her charge that she was against looking for evidence that would have exonerated a death row inmate as well:

Decline? Sure. I have doubts that he would step down though. He would not be the first that utterly lost their marbles but still sat in the seat even if it is mostly for show.

His mental and physical condition is CLEARLY not good. He is in worse shape before taking office than any president in my lifetime

Your lifetime is a rather small slice of the nations history. I do not see where his physical health is really all that poor and certainly nowhere near Roosevelt's health while he was in office even if the media at the time was actively trying to cover for Roosevelt. Mentally, he certainly seems to be having some issues but then again I have doubts that such will stop him from serving his term even if he goes bat shit crazy and/or utterly senile.

Breaking bones while playing with your dog is an indication of fragility. Talking and then suddenly spouting strings of nonsensical jibberish even with a script is a sign of mental decline. Hell, sometimes he can't even follow his own script without getting lost and giving up.
