• The POINT to self-defense is to PRESERVE life. Your own. If the perp dies in the attack, that was the risk HE took. You give up your own rights when you try to rob another person of theirs. That is the foundation of a republic of laws ensuring a stable societal structure.
• If aborting a fetus you created and taking its life is just a woman's right to HER own body, then defending your life against an external threat HAS to be a right too! At least in abortion, the fetus doesn't have a gun and isn't threatening you with it!

No, it isn't murder if justified by circumstances. Someone defending themselves that kills someone else did not murder the attacker. A soldier in a war did not murder the enemy soldier.

Defending yourself isn't intentionally trying to murder someone.

I guess you've never had to defend yourself before.

And killing enemy soldiers is a murder. Usually it means kill them before they kill you.

When I was in uniform I would have dropped a threat without a second thought.

But anyone who has had to do so usually doesn't feel good about themselves afterwards.

Killing for any reason isn't a good feeling.

The Second Amendment isn't about self defense. Just because you can defend yourself with a gun, that is protected under the 2A, doesn't mean the 2A is about self defense.
