More important to the job of protecting the young is both desire, willingness and perhaps most of all: conviction and selflessness to serve the public good--- ---things we used to take for granted in our average beat cop.

When I went to school in Israel, when we went on a field trip, one of our teachers brought a rifle. In Israel, schools are surrounded by fencing, and you have to get checked through by an armed guard to even get close to the school entrance.

When I went to school in Israel, when we went on a field trip, one of our teachers brought a rifle. In Israel, schools are surrounded by fencing, and you have to get checked through by an armed guard to even get close to the school entrance.

And teachers do NOT carry guns.
