How do you like the Railway system in your country?

I rode many trains as a kid illegally dangling on freight cars or car carriers. Never ridden one train legally inside.

I looked up recently it take over 32 hours to ride one from Midwest to central AZ. Or average ~50Mph? Not too bad. Surprisingly good? Is that including some stops?

You would do good to AVG 50Mph in a car.

Takes ~4 hours to fly that far? But all day, packing, driving, parking, walking, TSA, waiting to the airplane both ends horrible.

It's OK but I feel nostalgia for the city trams and the country rälsbuss (I don't know the name in English). ⬇️

I enjoyed the wooden slat seats with the twine baggage rack above, the winter cold rikety-rikety, and jumping from one carriage to the other. :)

I am asking as in Germany it is gone from bad to worse.

in Switzerland it is still fine!
I last went by rail using BART in the SF Bay area and worked on constructing BART. BART is expensive. The trains are fine. When I was in Germany, the rail was always on time and just decent carriages. I departed Germany in 1964. I rode two passenger trains in the USA and those were slow, but the trips were not needed to be fast then by me. German trains were faster at the time.
