How do you feel about Israel's new "request" for more money?

A Jewish state is fine but where does that leave the Palestinians in the West Bank?
It leaves them in the West Bank, or they can go back to Jordan. They’re actually Jordanians.

Seems like the answer to that is for them to put down their arms and become Israeli citizens and buy land in Israel. Or they could just keep doing what they are doing and expect different results, right?
Fine idea and the Palestinians might go for it, but the Israelis, never.

If the Israeli, West Bank settlers returned to Israel, the Palestinians might opt for Jordan.

The Palestinians would never go for it. The Israelis offered them their OWN land, and they refused. What makes you think they would become part of Israel?

Oy. You’re so clueless.

The Jews returned to Israel from Gaza 20 years ago. Did the Palestinians opt to return to Egypt? No. They just kept lobbing rockets at the Jews - until the day their elected leaders massacred innocent Jews by dismembering them and burning them alive.

You are SO biased against the Jews that you won’t admit what antisemitic people these Palestinians are. They danced and celebrated around the coffins of the little Jewish babies the HAMAS savages tortured and murdered. They even brought their own kids to teach them to celebrate when Jewish toddlers are murdered!

Reports indicate that while many Israelis and some members of the Jewish diaspora expressed grief or apathy regarding the civilian death toll in Gaza, there have been documented instances of some Israelis celebrating or expressing support for the destruction in Gaza.
  • Documented Instances: Reports from various sources have documented instances of far-right Israelis celebrating or mocking the deaths of Palestinians, including children, in Gaza.
  • Social Media and Public Displays: Some Israelis have used social media to share content celebrating the destruction in Gaza. Additionally, during events like the Jerusalem Day march, some participants have been filmed engaging in racist chanting, such as "Death to Arabs," and celebrating in ways that target Palestinians.

I wonder what leftist rag is distorting the truth,

Let’s not forget: the Islamic savages started this with a barbaric, subhuman massacre of Jews - and they said they would keep repeating it until Israel is wiped off the Earth.

Why are you still focusing on blaming Jews when what is happening in Iran is exponentially worse? No Jews to blame, eh?

Survival.
If that’s true, why didn’t they accept the offer of peace that Israel extended? Israel was giving them 94% of the land they wanted.

The answer is: they care more about murdering Jews than they do about their own survival. That’s why they strap bombs onto their chests, or their children’s chests, and send them into a kosher grocery store.

You are giving Palestinians more credit than they deserve. They have shown survival is not their #1 concern.

Time will tell. My money is on that they will eventually be assimilated.

This is known as shooting the messenger but if it's all you got, go for it.

Right, we all know the Arab-Israeli conflict started in Oct 2023.

Why are you still focusing on blaming Jews when what is happening in Iran is exponentially worse? No Jews to blame, eh?
Squirrel!

Maybe, but we'll never know, Israel would never allow it.
Never is a long time. It would be Israel's worst nightmare.

If Palestinians surrendered their claims and sought to live in Israel, it would fundamentally alter the conflict, though practical, legal, and political obstacles would be immense. Such a scenario could potentially lead to a, likely contentious, integration process, shifting from a national struggle to a civil rights issue, though it faces deep-rooted skepticism from both sides.
  • Legal Status and Citizenship: Palestinians would likely face a rigorous, possibly restrictive, process to gain Israeli citizenship. While roughly 21% of Israel's population are already Arab citizens of Israel, incorporating millions more from the West Bank and Gaza would be legally complex.
  • Demographic & Political Shifts: A significant increase in the Arab population could challenge the definition of Israel as a "Jewish and democratic state". This could cause intense political debate within Israel regarding the balance of Jewish and Arab citizens.
  • Residency and Rights: Palestinians might face a long transition period of holding residency status without voting rights in national elections, similar to the situation in East Jerusalem, rather than immediate full citizenship.
  • Security Concerns: Israel would likely impose strict security screenings and vetting processes for any individuals seeking to move from areas previously controlled by Hamas or the Palestinian Authority.
  • Land and Property: The surrender of claims would mean abandoning the "right of return" to specific properties lost in 1948 or 1967, likely resulting in the loss of property rights, with potential, though uncertain, compensation schemes.
  • Skepticism and Resistance: This scenario faces immense resistance, with Palestinians viewing it as a "surrender diktat" that erases their history and culture, while many in Israel would fear for their security and the Jewish character of the state.
The situation would not likely be an immediate, peaceful integration but rather a highly volatile, long-term process with significant legal, social, and security challenges.

How does OP feel about the $160 billion we gave to Ukraine?

Joe Biden alone gave 350 billion to Ukraine. However, I reject the logic that one mistake invites us to make another. That said, in for a penny, in for a pound, I think we need to insure that Israel follows this through to fruition. Israel needs to come out of this better off and more secure than it was on 10/7 if we are to avoid a repeat of the whole Gaza mess.
