How do we stop "the poor" from being so problematic?

When minimum wage is increased (within sane limits) poor and middle class take home more pay while rich spend more.
If that were even remotely true, there wouldn't be a constant call to raise minimum wage. Think how many times it has been raised in your lifetime - over 8 to 12 times depending on your age.

This is just basic economics - not to mention common sense. When you raise minimum wage, business raises their prices to cover the new costs of labor. Those increased costs for products and services mean that the minimum wage worker is no further ahead (and will actually fall further behind at some point as they enter a higher tax bracket). All minimum wage increases do is cause artificial inflation and devalue the dollar for everyone.

Minimum wage has not been increased in eight years

Unlike rightwing fear mongering, it does not cause inflation, does not impact employment and does not devalue the dollar

What frozen minimum wage does is increase debt of low wage working families

How often do people get raises in their lifetime?
Every bit as often as their performance merits it. And are you ready for this? That includes the minimum wage worker. Yep - they too receive raises for their performance. More proof that raising minimum wage is unnecessary and detrimental.

You really have the conservative talking point on raising the minimum wage memorized. Congratulations, but it's totally false.

McDonald's admits that raising the MW by $1 raises their costs on producing a burger by 10 cents. So a $2.50 increase in the MW raises their costs by 25 cents. Hardly an onerous amount, especially when you factor in the tax savings for EIC's, Food stamps, and other income supports, and for this, the worker gets $100 a week more in his/her pocket, to spend as they see fit (unlike food stamps), because they earned this money.

In 2013, Walmart was the second most profitable company in American, and American taxpayers contributed $9 billion to provide social assistance to Walmart employees in the form of EIC's, food stamps and Medicaid. The subsidy amounted to $2,500 in income supplements and assistance from every taxpayer in America, whether they shopped at Walmart or not. Had Walmart paid their employees $100 per week more, they still would have one of the most profitable companies in America, just not the second most profitable, and their employees would have been PAYING TAXES, not living off your taxes.

So raising the minimum wage will save you much more in taxes than you are currently paying now, and the resultant increase is prices will be minimal compared to your TAX SAVINGS on the social programs you loathe.

The point is, social services, pays out, about fourteen dollars an hour. A minimum wage for actual labor, should beat that "wage".

Na, They have no idea what real jobs are

Unlike rightwing fear mongering, it does not cause inflation, does not impact employment and does not devalue the dollar
The facts disprove your left-wing propaganda talking points. Hours are cut back, jobs are eliminated, businesses close, and it creates inflation. Those are the facts. Facts that the left-wing nutjobs are learning the hard way in California. This is the reality that you don't want to accept:

There are just some jobs that are absolutely not worth any more than seven dollars an hour, like flipping burgers and stocking shelves. Those are beginner/temporary jobs and should be paid as so

Bullshit. They get raises as often as their employers deem fit which is almost never. I know of a man who worked in a shop manufacturing store fixtures, as a machine operator, and head of shipping. There were about 30 workers at this company, all making slightly more than minimum wage. Between 2005 and 2010, this man received raises totalling $1 per hour. His net pay wasn't enough to put a roof over his family's head.

During the same time, the owner of the company (who plead poor and apologized to workers for not giving raises), bought and renovated a $2 million home, bought a new, high-end BMW, a new Harley Davidson, and went on a couple of cruises every year.

With an excess of low skilled workers due to off-shoring, one doesn't need to pay "competitive" wages because people are desperate for work.

American workers are the most productive on the planet, and the poorest paid. That guys like "Patriot" are OK with this shows how thoroughly brain-washed conservatives are. He actually believes the bullshit that Republicans keep spewing, even though it's been demonstrated to be totally FALSE.

We are just "downsizing" our least efficient Firms.

It is not a progressive tax, but a cost of living increase.
That's like injecting people with the AIDS virus as treatment for HIV... :lmao:

The only reason we need "cost of living increases" is because minimum wage hikes cause the cost of living to increase.

I guess small business owners will have to do more for less; thank goodness they are not, all about the money.
