If that really happened to you, then you should have contacted a lawyer and took action against the officer. There are bad cops out there, but they are such a minority chances are you'll never run into them, and they usually don't last very long on the force. I've known a few of them too. It's just too easy for them to slip up and they get busted right away.

But for the most part, cops are just people wanting to do their job with no real problems.
