How do we plan for this?

The "100 billion twin tunnels delta" refers to California's controversial Delta Conveyance Project, a massive infrastructure plan for a single, large tunnel (originally proposed as twin tunnels) to move Northern California water south, aiming to secure supplies for a drier future but facing huge cost estimates (ranging from $20B to $100B+) and fierce opposition over environmental, economic, and construction impacts. The project, championed by Governor Newsom, seeks to bypass the Delta's ecosystem, but faces legislative hurdles and public outcry over potential disruption, high costs, and insufficient climate adaptation, despite its stated goal of improving water reliability for millions.

I was following the premise of the thread. Water is owned by democrats, water is controlled by democrats.

That's unimaginative ... you didn't say which community you live in ... except Connecticut ... God ... or Mother Nature if you prefer ... controls the water ... not Jewish death-beam weather controllers ...

Shasta County is Democrat ... HAW HAW HAW HAW HAW HAW HAW HAW HAW HAW HAW ... what an idiot ... you must think everyone lives in Orange County ...

This started in the 1940's ... you're just now discovering this:

"Farmers in the Delta are among the most opposed to the project because it would decrease the amount of water available to them for irrigation." ...

In general, the top crops by acreage are:
  • Corn for grain and forage
  • Alfalfa
  • Wheat and other small grains
  • Wine grape
  • Processing tomato
Other important Delta crops are rice, safflower, sweet corn, other forages, pear, almond, walnut, dry beans, cherry, and potato.
-- "Delta Crops Resource Management" -- Univ of California -- 2025 ...

You must be blind stupid to think we only grow almonds in the Central Valley ...

Newscum refuses to let farmers replenish the aquafers in Kalifornia. It's just another disaster caused by the US Democratic party of slavery, racism and authoritarianism.
Link?

Here comes some water.

The North Sierra's are due for a Pineapple Express this week ... that's a warm system and forecasters aren't expecting much snow from this event ... the rainwater will be saved until we know how much water there'll be from snowmelt this Spring ... and storage levels will be adjusted accordingly ...

This is shaping up to be a "wet" year ... where everyone gets all the water they need, and maybe all they want if it's a really wet year ... Tulare Lake filled in 2023 ... so maybe too much water ...

The problem is dry years, when there's not enough water ... do we ruin good farmland with sea water infiltrating the Delta, or let golf courses in the desert turn brown ... can you imagine the devastation if old Republicans have to use sand greens? ... have mercy ... that's no better than Western Kansas ...

A minimalist lifestyle will save the planet. It's time to give back to the earth instead of plundering it.

California's Central Valley is sinking, and losing it's water supply, both surface and subsurface. This is not just a local problem as 40% of our vegitables and 80% of the world's almonds are grown there.

Oh noos! Come back when the entire valley is under water like it was back in 1862.

But, it does present a useful essay on why illegal immigration is terrible, and why idiotic environmentalists are a bane to the environment, and society alike.

Well said ...

Do you include Democrat billionaire tomato growers? ...
Do you include Democrat billionaire cucumber growers? ...
Do you include Democrat billionaire peach growers? ...
Do you include Democrat billionaire sugar beet growers? ...
Do you include Democrat billionaire watermelon growers? ...

The sad part is the California Central Valley is profoundly Republican ... billionaire Democrats live in Malibu Beach and Palo Alto ... not Turlock or Red Bluff ...

ETA: Central Valley water heading to golf courses and billionaire landscapes in Los Angeles ...

Note the harsh desert wasteland ... and we haven't even reached LA !!! ...
Very true, rich dems have been raping the water from northern California for well over a century. Mulholland and his cronies were instrumental in draining Owen's Valley of its water.

I'm looking at election results ... California Central Valley is as Red as Red can be in 2024 ... we call this "Trump Country" in Trump Country ... which hippy liberal commie McGovernik coastal community do you live? ... your userfile says Connecticut ...

How many billionaires are in Palo Alto? ... how many in Redding? ... [snear] ... how many in Blue-Blood New England ...
Ultimately we all know that the red voting areas of California don't matter. They are merely temporary impediments to what the blue billionaires want.

This started in the 1940's ... you're just now discovering this:

The twin tunnels, which is now one tunnel, is a new idea. Not an idea or project from 1940.

No, the Central Valley Project started in the early 1930's
You must be blind stupid to think we only grow almonds in the Central Valley ...
The thread is about the San Joaquin Valley and how to save the richest farmer in the USA. , the democrat almond grower Stewart Resnick, enjoy yourself some SmokeHouse almonds. Our tax money pays the cost to give the richest farmer in the USA the water he needs. Resnick bribes the politicians, the taxpayer pays the billions it costs to give Resnick the water.

This thread is about giving billions to rich rich rich billionaire democrats.

But, it does present a useful essay on why illegal immigration is terrible, and why idiotic environmentalists are a bane to the environment, and society alike.
Yes, environmentalists, who caused the recent billion dollar fires in Los Angeles, cause they hate Republicans. Specifically cause they tried to prevent the Reagan Library from being built, listing a weed as a protected species. The same weed that the democrat officials dictated not to disturb when they wished to use bulldozers to contain the fire.

Environmentalism is weapon against progress, a political weapon.

yep, they even made the Owen's Valley a federally protected area so that no farming in the region could take the water that Los Angeles wanted hundreds of miles away.

You must be blind stupid if you think they only grow almonds in the San Joaquin Valley ... oh, just one guy? ... one farm the size of Connecticut ... growing nothing but almonds ...

You never said where you lived in California ... must not have been in the San Joaquin Valley because you sure don't know much about what's grown there ...

Franzia Wines are boxed there ... I went to school with one of the granddaughters north of Modesto ... swam in the very canals we're arguing over ... have you ever done real field work? ...

This is the heart of the "State of Jefferson" movement ... the evil Salem/Sacramento Axis of Evil double-double crossed us ... these legislatures serve only the Big Cities ... us out here in the rural areas get scraps if we're lucky ...

By the way ... none of the Owens River feeds the Central Valley ... that's strictly for Los Angeles ... it's the climate ...

Gallo was the biggest wine grower in the San Joaquin Valley.
On the way to Paso Robles, from Bakersfield one will pass by a Lay potato chip factory. Once one crosses the 5 freeway, on the way to Paso Robles, you will pass miles of Almond trees that were killed because the democrats shut the water off.
At one time, as one traveled to San Francisco you would pass the make-shift signs, stating that Farmers need water to grow the food to feed the people. They may still be there.
The Harris Ranch was the biggest most visible cattle farm along the 5, stunk to high heaven. The Harris Inn was located a fair distance away.
Recent stuff is a wetland was created, because of the runoff ponds were toxic killing wildlife, so through lawsuits the Farmers were forced to build a wetland that is seen from the 5
Kettleman, I like the BBQ there.
And of course, on the way to Paso Robles, I always stop where James Dean died.
Since I have been here, growing wine has exploded. Where there were no vines, now there are vineyards for miles upon miles.
Gallo at one time produced around 95% of all of California's wine.
I remember when they were growing cotton in the San Joaquin Valley, I saw giant bales of Cotton.
When the tomato fields are ripe, there are thousands of trucks hauling tomatoes down the 5. Unique trucks, hauling open trailers of tomatoes. Sucks when on motorcycle and you get behind one that is leaking.

Yes, this thread is about the richest farmer in the USA, who is a democrat. When speaking of the central valley and spending money on water, that water makes the richest billionaire farmer in the USA richer.

Yes, this thread is about Stewart Resnick and his Almond empire. Of course we can add his Pistachios as well.

It doesn't matter. Cali is run by a corrupt democrat party. Has been for over 25 years now. What the actual citizens want doesn't matter a fig to them.

I never said it did. I said the Owen's Valley water is all diverted to Los Angeles.

Try and keep up.

Now you are taking contrarian positions without thinking.
