How did you celebrate Junteenth?

I celebrated it like most black people do - not at all.
Why do white racists think they can speak for blacks? Most blacks have been ceebrating Juneteenth long before it became a holiday whites racist could whine about. Blacks here have celebrated Juneteenth for at least 35 years.

I celebrated by eating fried chicken and collard greens.

Not renamed after Confederates.
Your party flies the Confederate flag and fights for the remembrance of the Confederacy. Republicans in those days were about competently erasing the confederacy. They also proposed repartitions. So modern Republicans just need to quit trying to take credit for freeing slaves.

You're wrong about Trump renaming the forts after CS leaders.

Why do black racists, like you, think you can whine about crap that never affected you?

Uh huh right. And they religiously put up their Kwaanza trees every Christmas.

I went to a couple of Goodwill stores and tried to go to a library, but it was closed.

I celebrate Juneteenth, privately, as I do every year, on the day after Kwanza.

How did I celebrate Juneteenth?

I didn't.

Couldn't care less.

Except for the official name... "National Independence Day".

We already have an "Independence Day".

It's called July 4th.

Time to rename the official label for Juneteenth.

Call it something like...

  • Slavery Abolition Day
  • Slavery Ending Day
  • Abolition Day
  • Slave Liberation Day
  • Slavery Eradication Day
...whatever...

But let's reverse this Cultural Appropriation-of-a-label and call it something else.
