I've said this many times in the past. We are dealing with people who merely have a larger vocabulary than a parrot, but no more ability to analyse data, discern facts and reality from the bullshit they're fed on TV and bed wetter web sites.

It's not that they're "performing these mental gymnastics", they do not even question the narrative, they merely repeat the agitprop as it was distributed and resist absorbing or even acknowledging any information that counters it. It's just deliberate ignorance. I understand your frustration, but at some point you need to understand you're arguing with parrots and playing chess with pigeons.

Now in real life, in a one on one conversation I have had some success convincing bed wetters they were wrong on a few issues. I've converted some to gun owners, or at least accepting the fact that the 2nd Amendment is an important right. I've helped a few understand why collectivism always fails and why billionaire donors buy democrook political whores at greater quantities than any other party. I even convinced one that the MMGW cult was a bullshit religion. That was a tremendous and tedious task though.

Online however it's impossible. You'd be better off trying to convince a religious zealot to convert to paganism. People online aren't here to get information from people they disagree with, and when it comes to bed wetters it would mean learning something from people they hate and adopting a political philosophy from someone who they're convinced follows hitler. Never mind they're the socialists, they already embrace many of the things the nazi's implemented.
