Detroit's corruption didn't help but it wasn't what caused the global economic crash. That was done on purpose to break unions, lower wages, etc. They call it disaster capitalism. Trash the economy and then use the crisis to insist on implementing your policies, like tax breaks for the rich. Say if you don't they won't create new jobs. But then we see they didn't create shit because the GOP also passed tax breaks for companies going overseas. They also changed the bankruptsy laws to make it easier for corporations with pensions to go bankrupt but they made it harder for middle class and poor people to go bankrupt. Almost as if they knew what was going to come.

When Clinton had a surplus and jobs were plentiful, no one cared that illegals were here doing room service and construction. Now that the economy sucks, we need those jobs. Time to go spicks.
