House Republicans really failed the American people with their failure to bring up the Senate DHS (Department of Homeland Security) funding bill which was a viable compromise bill which funded all DHS except ICE and the Border Patrol. Speaker of the House Mr. Johnson didn't even bring up this Senate Bill in the House of Representatives for a vote because if he did a good assessment would conclude it would have passed; he passed his partisan bill that didn't make any effort to stop ICE abuses! Passage of the Senate bill would have been an outstanding development and exactly what the country needed even though President Donald Trump would not have signed it into law. The reason why it would have been so so appropriate even if President Trump didn't sign it into law because President Trump especially now needs to be sent a message that a lot of the major things he is responsible for are wrong they are bad bad decisions for the country that he needs to stop making! On the issue of extending the enhanced tax credits for the Affordable Care Act he should have agreed to the compromise legislation to cut off high wage earners and make everyone pay at least a little to stop fraud because you know what the result of his rejection of this compromise was it has resulted in one million American families not having health insurance now and many Americans that did sign up on the ACA insurance exchanges will probably lose their health insurance over the course of this year because they cannot afford to pay the premium that went up on average over fifty percent from the prior year. And you know what the Democrats are seeking with the bill funding ICE and the Border Patrol they are rightly seeking to rein in the abusive behavior of these agencies it is spot on these agencies with their abuses don't represent the values and principles of America. To be candid with you it makes my blood boil how these agencies are arresting and detaining people in violation of the law; this month a Colombia-born journalist Estefany Rodriguez Florez was arrested by ICE she had an open asylum case where she was compliant with mandated court appearances and since she was recently married she filed an application for permanent residency status and that case was pending there was no legal grounds for ICE to arrest and detain this women this is completely illegal; the ICE arrest of Mohommad Nazeer Paktyawal, an Afghanistan refugee who helped U.S. Special in Afghanistan and was a father of six children ICE said that he was arrested because his immigration parole expired (the Trump Administration Should Never Have Screwed around with this system for Afghanistan refugees) and then said he was arrested for criminality, a theft case and a SNAP fraud case neither of which charges were filed or a verdict of guilt was obtained and this man died within 24 hours of being in custody a friend of our country who put his life on the line to help American soldiers in Afghanistan. President Trump needs to acknowledge that wrong things are occurring in these agencies and agree to responsible changes in the law governing these agencies!
The really critical reasons that House Republicans should have sent this Senate Bi-Partisan bill to Trump's desk and let him know he needs to stop acting like a King and stop always trying to get his way no matter the cost is because of this Iran war matter. Wisdom says President Trump is going to move this into a ground war and today there is no good off-ramps to this war and once a ground war start the outcomes of this war get exponentially worse. Unless someone can get to Trump and convince him he has to fundamentally change his behavior America is getting into a ground war in Iran. Trump wants his fifteen point demands to be met in current negotiations with the Iran government, the Iran government wouldn't meet these fifteen points before the war when Trump had all this leverage against them and now he has used up his leverage with the 10,000 bombing sorties why would the Iran government agree now, they have already paid most of the price to not submitting. Anyone with real brains and is honest knows Trump isn't getting a face saving deal in these negotiations so Trump being Trump not considering the cost of his actions is going to put troops on the ground in Iran hoping somehow to pull a big win out of this situation. Which no way is happening the U.S. air force is not going to eliminate all Iranian artillery and it will only take one anti-ship missile in some Marine bunker of the expeditionary force to kill another six U.S, soldiers like what happened in Kuwait in the beginning of the war. These Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard soldiers with their religious zeal are going to be in heaven fighting the Great Satan's (America's) soldiers; Trump trying to re-open and keep open the Strait of Hormuz will turn into Vietnam II with U.S. soldiers dying every day! The doubly bad thing is that the current Iranian regime will do exactly what it said it will do if the U.S. escalates this war into a ground war it will devastatingly bomb the refinery and oil production facilities of other Persian Gulf countries so consumers throughout the world through the 2028 elections will be paying painfully high prices at the pump! This man in the Oval Office is such a menace how much do the good American people have to endure of this!
I know the Republican House caucus is fully right-wing and they don't care about things like the rule of law and the constitutional framework of power for the three coequal branches of the U.S. government and they are ecstatic about a $200 billion dollar war supplemental being enacted into law to pour all this money into America's military industrial complex and the prospect of a war to remove the anti-Israel Iranian regime but they forget to consider how all of this ends up, ultimately this war will have one of its names being America's "Afghanistan Two" war a war America unequivocally lost and the only real thing America is left with is too many killed and wounded U.S. soldiers and the loss of a lot of precious U.S. treasure!
