Is THIS "Parenting"?

I'm betting the kid won't do that again, but the "mother" is a monster who needs to be in jail. This person has no business raising children

Notice how we wait until there's an audience?

They be a reezun fo dat.

She's embarrassed and inconvenienced and that's close enough to disrespect, which we all know is an all-out act of war.

Also, who just had to get it on video. NOT to keep the mom in check but to encourage the abuse?

No-one in that audience tried to intervene.

Mmmmm.
I've seen those kinds of parents in person.
I've even talked to a couple of them.

Either the adults in these situations came from extremely strict homes themselves.......
or
Something happened to them or someone very close to them, that caused an incident like this, and they never want it repeated.
or
They have other children who are "bad influences" or live in a very bad neighborhood and don't want their kids becoming delinquents........or worm food.

I don't understand what was being said or what the girl did. But I know embarassing your momma by having her being called to school because of something you did is a potential life ending scenario. You NEVER mess with a real Southern mother. She WILL and CAN end you.

I do think it was a bit much........but with todays kids...........even ones brought up in "good homes", can go off to the dark side.
And there is NOTHING like being humiliated by your mother at school to straighten you out FOR GOOD. You did it once, and you will NEVER do it again.

To make a more accurate judgement though, I'd really need to know what the kid did.

Nobody is upset that she called her own son "that word"

But they're upset this woman called a little thief "that word". Maybe the white woman needed to beat the little darling too?

In most states, teachers are mandatory reporters for any form of child abuse, and that qualifies IMHO. CPS will be paying her a visit and depending on her attitude, she may lose custody of that child.
Not in Southern states. This is "normal" for deep south Southern people growing up.

If the kid has any bruises, she may get taken away for a while and the mother goes to some anger management courses............but if she doesn't show any "damage", she will just be given a warning.

Once again, you are full of crap. I taught in Florida and Kentucky. In Florida, I was an assistant principal of a high school with 3200+ students. I know the laws regarding child abuse like the back of my hand. You are dead wrong.

Laws and what ACTUALLY happens are two HUGELY DIFFERENT things.

This child needs to be removed. Most of us are all for discipline, but this is abuse.

And charge her with using "that word'.

EQUAL JUSTICE UNDER THE LAW

I know that the teachers are required to report it and do. What state do you infest, er live in?
Apparently a state with common sense and ideals that give parents the right to admonish their kids........not the ******* government.
Unless the parents are highly abusive or cruel, theres nothing the CPS is going to do, because they are overloaded......and have been overloaded for decades. They don't remove kids from homes anymore, unless it's a life or death situation.

So, you won't say? That's pretty suspect right there!

That was pretty close to being a life-or-death situation IMHO. Imagine what she might have done had there not been witnesses present.

I have to ask if you believe this was abuse or not. It seems pretty cut and dried to me. What is your opinion? If you were the teacher, would you report her?

You ARE funny!!!!

I've seen principles give whackings worse than that. Before the states took away all those deterrent priveledges from schools across the country.

Like I said, I'd need more info on the situation than what was in the video.

And you don't pay attention at all, do you. I've stated MANY TIMES OVER in tons of my comments....................

No, you may have seen PRINCIPALS do that back in the dark ages. Corporal punishment went away in the 90s when I first started teaching in FL.

Your spelling and word choice have not improved. I cannot recall where everyone on the forum is from nor do they expect the same for them. I always identify where I am coming from.

Go right ahead and beat your child/grandchild like that and see what happens to you. My oldest grandson attended school in Texas and if anything happened like that to them, I would have made the 20-hour drive to end someone, whether it be the parent or educator that did not report it.

BTW, that little boy is now a 19-year-old man, sitting in my living room right now doing his college work.

Hell isn't going to be hot enough for some people.

God bless you and all kids with monster parents always!!!
