I don't know anyone who sits home and takes money for doing nothing. That's basically what is going on now, and people are going crazy doing it. They are desperate to get out, and it's only been two weeks.

My neighbour gets 5 weeks paid vacation, and he almost never uses all the time. He says "What am I gonna do? Sit around all day?". He doesn't have a great job. He's outdoors in all weather, and it's hard physical work. But he'd rather go and do that than sit around getting paid to do nothing.

Canadian retirees have a guaranteed tax free income of $19,000 per year, plus free healthcare, no copays. Every retiree I know has a part time job. Or they're doing community service work - contributing to their communities.

And you think that's only in your country? Sorry to inform you, but that's the case here too.

But not everybody is the same, either here or in Canada. There are groups of people that love sitting home and getting paid. There are people who climb the walls because they are not working.

My father is a retired bricklayer. Years ago, we used to laugh because we always said that if Dad hit the lottery, he'd be back at work the next day. He loved his job, took a lot of pride in his work. Until this day, at 88 years old, he's still the same way, of course with limited abilities. Whatever work he can do, he does. He's been a tremendous help to me working at my place.

However, Dad is from a different generation as am I. The work ethic is diminishing. There are people who live at home well into their 30's these days. Dope is more important than getting a well paying job that drug test. Parents welcome their children living at home as long as possible.

When I was younger, your main goal was to get out of the house; rent an apartment; buy a house of your own. There is so much liberty calling your own shots. Not so much today.

nobody ever suggested the virus was created by someone eating bat soup. The theory was Pangolins and bats taken out of their natural habit and brought in close proximity of one and other got infected and passed the virus on to humans. Now there appears to be other theories floating about. We don’t know yet.

More than that, our people were there a few years ago, and came back to report the lab wad run disgracefully and a real danger to the world. My money is that it came from that lab, and the government knew about it weeks before they disclosed what it really was.

I'm glad you love work so much that you wouldn't stop working if possible. But a lot of people hate working. They do it because that's the only way to put food on the table. I don't need work to live a happy life. I'm a boring guy, and I still have better ways to occupy my time than working.

This conversation reminds me of my next door neighbor. He worked all his life, but during the DumBama recession, he stayed on unemployment the entire two years. When he finally ran out of benefits, he went to work for his brother-in-law; a job he could have taken anytime in that two years.

So one of three things here: you either have such a pathetic life that working is the only joy you have, you don't work, and don't understand how exhausting working is; getting up morning after morning, working week after week, year after year, decade after decade. Or you are a very young person who hasn't been in the workforce for a very long time, and work is relatively new and challenging to you. Because when I was much younger, I felt the exact same way. I used to love going to work.
