Trey Gowdy has a tough nut to crack:
Yesterday’s news release tells me that Rep. Gowdy is coming closer to the truth than did any previous House, or Senate, Benghazi Committee managed to achieve:
Trey Gowdy’s Select Committee will be facing a fragmentation grenade thrown by every Administration official who was involved in the apathetic killing of four Americans on 9-11-2012. The more shrapnel dispersed the less chance there is of discovering the truth. Bottom line: Each culprit is a piece of shrapnel; nevertheless, Republicans on the Select Committee will play hell uncovering the one person who pulled the pin. Frankly, I cannot see Hillary Clinton throwing herself on a live grenade in order to save the others.
Still, I have high hopes this line of questioning will become the Committee’s focus as it should be:
To me, one thing is obvious that makes the stand down order unique as far as congressional committees go. The government does not give a rat’s ass what the American people learn about anything the government does. Committees make a lot of noise, while the media makes a lot of advertising money reporting on this or that until the story fades away. The Benghazi coverup goes right to the core America’s system.
Most importantly, Benghazi created a struggle of loyalties between a civilian administration and the US military. Here is why:
America’s political system places civilians in charge of the military. That system generally worked. Benghazi changed the rules. In my opinion, military men loyal to the country will not willing standby and allow civilians to kill Americans in the name of a global political agenda. That is exactly what the stand down order and the coverup is all about. It is not the same thing as civilians ordering military blunders in war time battles. The Benghazi stand down order amounted to the wanton killing of Americans for no other reason than civilians protecting a grand scheme nobody except Democrats can explain let alone understand. US military people want no part of it, nor will they take the blame for the coverup. Proof: A long list of honorable military men already spoke out against NOT SENDING HELP TO AMERICANS UNDER FIRE WHEN HELP WAS AVAILABLE.
“Every witness who has relevant information needs to be talked to,” Gowdy told reporters after a committee meeting Tuesday.
If he didn’t call Clinton before the committee, Gowdy said, it would be “an incomplete investigation.”

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has agreed to testify to the House's select committee investigating Benghazi, the panel's Democratic ranking member told CNN on Tuesday.

. . . how about the most asked question of them all, did anyone in the administration issue a “stand down” order that prevented a military rescue?
In a classic straw man argument, the Democrats accuse Republicans of claiming that Secretary of State Clinton personally “ordered” Defense Secretary Panetta to “stand down” an ongoing rescue attempt. That obviously didn’t happen; and no credible source has alleged that.
But as I revealed in Dark Forces: The Truth About What Happened in Benghazi, two very real stand-down orders were issued that night by Secretary Clinton, apparently in tandem with John Brennan at the White House, which had the effect of slow-rolling the government response to the crisis.
• They refused to convene the Counterterrorism Security Group (CSG), the only structured, experienced, interagency reaction team that could have decided which resources of the government were available for deployment immediately.
• They refused to activate the State Department-led Foreign Emergency Support Team (FEST), an extraordinary operational unit on call 24/7 that included special operations troops and its own airlift, which could have secured the compound and the Annex and prevented the loss of classified data.
