Young demanded plenty of cocaine laced Metamucil back stage and Springsteen wanted a dressing room big enough to hold his angst.

have you written something as good as Thunder Road yet? :eusa_whistle:

I always tried to find a better song than Thunder Road that Bruce has done. If only to see if anything could top that from his catalog. And I honestly can't say there is. It's amazing too at how young he wrote it.

Though I enjoy a lot of the music from his newest album.

i like a lot of the new stuff, too. and it's always a tough call between thunder road and incident on 57th street.

FWIW, Bruce thinks Thunder Road is his best, too. And if you want to hear something really cool... this is when it was still called "wings for wheels" and mary was still "angelina" the video says its from 1975, but i think it was fully formed by then, so it's probably an earlier show.

I've actually heard this version before. I looked it up after I heard it on youtube. I couldn't believe it was him since it sounded so different yet the same.

The song underwent considerable evolution as it was written, with an early version titled "Wings For Wheels" first performed at The Main Point in Bryn Mawr on February 5th 1975. That phrase would eventually be used in the final version of the lyrics. The original version also mentions a girl named "Angelina," or "Christina," (in various versions) rather than the studio homage to "Mary". Among other changes, including an entirely different lyrics for some verses, the song concludes with "This is a town full of losers, and baby I was born to win" instead the Thunder Road ending, "It's a town full of losers and we're pulling out of here to win".
