But you are not denying they greatly benefitted are you? Here's a thought: You owe the descendents of union soldiers compensation for fighting to the death to free the slaves. That makes as much sense as the reparations people like you want paid to blacks for slavery.
Blacks fought for the Union. We don't owe whites anything for correcting the wrong they created. So I will post this because your argument is retarded.
I am quite sure no one living in 1980 was alive when the U.S. government made the Fort Laramie treaty with the Sioux Nation, or was a participant in Custer's violation of that treaty. Nor were they alive when President Grant decided it was OK to let settlers and people prospecting for gold trespass into land promised to the Sioux ,thereby violating the treaty. No one in 1980 was alive when the U.S. government decided to take the land from the Sioux by military force. No one in 1980 was alive when the U.S. government decided to cut off supplies they promised the Sioux as a condition for their surrender after whipping the U.S. Army at The Battle of Little Bighorn. But in 1980, the government of the United States decided reparations were due to the Sioux Nation for what was done to them in the 1800’s. They awarded the Sioux Nation 105 million dollars.

This is just one example. Cobel v. Salazar and others are additional examples. Confederate soldiers and their descendants got reparations until at least 2017. President Obama released funds to pay Jews reparations for WW2 even though our country did not commit the crimes. You guys have been shown this, yet you still try to argue. After a while, repeating myself gets old, so you can just stop with your trifling, obtuse commentary.
Futhermore,
I do think that whites like yourself don't understand that reparations are not just about slavery.
This paper in the link shows that whites received the equivalent of over 1 quintillion dollars in economic aid from the government during the last century, that black were excluded from. That has fueled what wealth white people have right now.

But if you still want to deny things.
"Racial and ethnic inequities have cost the U.S. economy some $51 trillion in lost output since 1990. Large and persistent gaps in rates of employment, education, and earnings across races "add up to a smaller economic pie for the nation as a whole" This statement is from a working paper published by members of the San Francisco Federal Reserve about the economic impact of continued inequity. It is titled: “The Economic Gains from Equity” In this paper, they state that from 1990 until 2022, the United States lost 51 trillion dollars in economic output due to continuing systemic disparities.
Citygroup did a study focusing on U.S. GDP from 2000 until 2020. The study revealed huge losses in GDP due to continuing discrimination against blacks in business revenue, education, housing credit, and income. The study determined that since the year 2000, continuing discriminatory practices in the four areas mentioned in the prior sentence resulted in a loss of 16 trillion dollars in GDP.25 The breakdown is as follows:
“Closing the Black racial wage gap 20 years ago might have provided an additional $2.7 trillion in income available for consumption and investment.
Improving access to housing credit might have added an additional 770,000 Black homeowners over the last 20 years, with combined sales and expenditures adding another $218 billion to GDP over that time.
Facilitating increased access to higher education (college, graduate, and vocational schools) for Black students might have bolstered lifetime incomes that in aggregate sums to $90 to $113 billion.
Providing fair and equitable lending to Black entrepreneurs might have resulted in the creation of an additional $13 trillion in business revenue over the last 20 years. This could have been used for investments in labor, technology, capital equipment, and structures, and 6.1 million jobs might have been created per year.
Citigroup determined that money was lost due to racial discrimination against blacks since 2000. At a minimum, reparations can be requested for money lost from 2000 to the present. If we only take lost income from racism starting in 2000, it equals more than 60,000 per black person in America based on the 2020 U.S. Census. Including all losses due to racial discrimination equals more than 280,000 per black person in America. This is money owed NOW for things done in OUR LIFETIMES.
Your argument is retarded because you are making an emotional argument, not based on fact, that ignores precedent set whereby others received reparations for harm done to their ancestors.
