Here’s What We Know Now: The Warrant Was for EVERY Document Trump Had During His Entire Term

It is a crime and there is punish.
The presidential records, U.S.C. §§ 2201–2209 defines what are presidential records and makes clear that they are government property. It is not a criminal statue but
18 U.S.C. section 641 is and it covers taking and destroying government property and punishment of a fine or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both. Whether it is serious or not depends on what was taken and what was destroyed.
Again if we raided a former Presidents house because he kept some records he wasnt supposed to we've turned a corner. I think the records issue was a pretense to raid a former Presidents house many in the establishment hated, and that's a problem.

Looks like I’m right, you’re welcome

No. The DOJ, had no interest in raiding Trump's House until it became clear beyond a reasonable doubt that he had classified documents. Luckily they found them. God knows what Trump planned to do with them. That might be one of the questions for Trump at his trial. He would of course take the 5th even thou he said “If you’re innocent, why are you taking the Fifth Amendment?”

And no other presidents do not take stacks of original president documents and certainly not classified documents when they leave office. They understand that presidential documents belong to the American people and will become part of the presidential library. Trump of course treated the office of presidency just like his other business offices. It was his office so he took whatever he wanted.

What the NARA director should have done is monitored what Trump was doing and requested that the FBI stop him and arrest him if necessary.

Comprehension fail.

The warrant included any documents created during Trump's term that he illegally had at Mar-A-Lago.

Like, say, a Top Secret/SCI war plan against Russia which was created during his term.

All caught up now?
Reading Fail.

Excerpt shown in OP doesn't say what you think it says. Appears more vague and inclusive of things not even classified.

First of all, Trump didn't steal or destroy Presidential records. Second, NARA KNEW where they were. They inspected them in JUNE!! Let's see Obama's 30 million records that he claims is somewhere in the ethernet.

I think the most important question is not being asked. What did he plan on doing with the most secret of secret documents in the country? If this were you or I, the answer would be obvious to the FBI and a jury.

What did Hillary plan to do with her 33 million missing classified/secret emails? What did Obama plan to do with his 30 million classified/secret documents? Where is the FBI? DOJ? CIA? WTF!!!

There is no evidence that Hillary or Obama has any classified documents and I serious doubt the US has 30 million classified documents. However we know Trump had classified documents. Trump's lawyer signed a receipt for them.

Apparently Trump is more forthcoming than Obama or Hilary.

YES, he did, moron.
How do you know Trump didn't destroy any records?
Where you there?

Trump likely already sent copies his N. Korean lover.
U.S. President Donald Trump took his enthusiasm for his detente with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un to new heights on Saturday, declaring at a rally with supporters that “we fell in love” after exchanging letters.

“I was really being tough - and so was he. And we would go back and forth,” Trump told a rally in West Virginia.

“And then we fell in love, okay? No, really - he wrote me beautiful letters, and they’re great letters,” he said.

OR his new Russian best friend.

Do you think Putin will be going to The Miss Universe Pageant in November in Moscow - if so, will he become my new best friend?

No, they didn't.
They showed up with a subpoena and took 15 boxes of documents.
You imply the FBI showed up inspected the documents, then left them there.

All you have to do is look for them.

ALL went through the national archives and are declassified.

Presidential Records Act (PRA) of 1978

The Presidential Records Act (PRA) of 1978, 44 U.S.C. ß2201-2209, governs the official records of Presidents and Vice Presidents that were created or received after January 20, 1981 (i.e., beginning with the Reagan Administration). The PRA changed the legal ownership of the official records of the President from private to public, and established a new statutory structure under which Presidents, and subsequently NARA, must manage the records of their Administrations. The PRA was amended in 2014, which established several new provisions.
Specifically, the PRA:
  • Establishes public ownership of all Presidential records and defines the term Presidential records.
  • Requires that Vice-Presidential records be treated in the same way as Presidential records.
  • Places the responsibility for the custody and management of incumbent Presidential records with the President.
  • Requires that the President and his staff take all practical steps to file personal records separately from Presidential records.
  • Allows the incumbent President to dispose of records that no longer have administrative, historical, informational, or evidentiary value, once the views of the Archivist of the United States on the proposed disposal have been obtained in writing.
  • Establishes in law that any incumbent Presidential records (whether textual or electronic) held on courtesy storage by the Archivist remain in the exclusive legal custody of the President and that any request or order for access to such records must be made to the President, not NARA.
  • Establishes that Presidential records automatically transfer into the legal custody of the Archivist as soon as the President leaves office.
  • Establishes a process by which the President may restrict and the public may obtain access to these records after the President leaves office; specifically, the PRA allows for public access to Presidential records through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) beginning five years after the end of the Administration, but allows the President to invoke as many as six specific restrictions to public access for up to twelve years.
  • Codifies the process by which former and incumbent Presidents conduct reviews for executive privilege prior to public release of records by NARA (which had formerly been governed by Executive order 13489).
  • Establishes procedures for Congress, courts, and subsequent Administrations to obtain “special access” to records from NARA that remain closed to the public, following a privilege review period by the former and incumbent Presidents; the procedures governing such special access requests continue to be governed by the relevant provisions of E.O. 13489.
  • Establishes preservation requirements for official business conducted using non-official electronic messaging accounts: any individual creating Presidential records must not use non-official electronic messaging accounts unless that individual copies an official account as the message is created or forwards a complete copy of the record to an official messaging account. (A similar provision in the Federal Records Act applies to federal agencies.)
  • Prevents an individual who has been convicted of a crime related to the review, retention, removal, or destruction of records from being given access to any original records.

1. Yes there is. Comey said as much on live freaking TV.

2 . The US has far more than 30 million classified documents.

Total Banana Republican fishing expedition.

The warrant is so specific that in line c., it demands... every Presidential record created during Donald Trump's entire term. Every single one.

So yeah, this is a super-specific warrant.

So it was for all of the US people's property not just some of it....
Looks like the FBI has taken the fun out of stealing from work...

Yep, this would all be just a bad joke if it wasn't such a serious escalation by the UNiparty against DT & by proxy, all of his supporters & all those who still want a free America.

They have dragged us into dangerous new territory & it wasn't just by stupidity or incompetence.
There's a deeper plan here that isn't just about preventing DT from running again
He stole US people's documents...

He was given plenty chances to give them back...

This is over 18 months later... You go act like this after getting fired from your job...

Actually any document created in the Trump Administration is considered property of the US People...

This is includes a note on a napkin passed to him during a dinner.

A President is 24/7 job...

It is illegal for an Administration to destroy a document unless they say a document is unless... This quite vague but it means an exPresident can't destroy documents...

While are these documents classified would have serious consequences, the law was broken when the first document left the White House. The Archives gave Trump ample opportunity to return the US property, he returned some but swore that it was all given back.
As soon as they signed that, Trump had given up there any possibility of a misunderstanding, they lied. Trump Admin was clearly told the laws before they left, and they broke them and continued to do for 18 months.

The FBI didn't want to make a big deal about this... They went in in secret to get their documents back... Trump started the circus, he could have just said nothing and we would be less the wiser..

It was very clear there was a high volume of documents and the ex-President was given ample opportunity to return them..

He then got his lawyers to say they returned them all...

There was every opportunity given to the ex President to return them..

This is a closer example how a mistake can happen and how to actually deal with it...

This is standard fair.. But look at the date, it is a very short time after leaving and first thing they did is return it and then negotiated and these weren't documents, it was more personal items...
