Here's One Reason Why FEMA Is Doing Such a Terrible Job

Former President Donald Trump, seeking to capitalize politically on the devastation from Hurricane Helene, falsely claimed in a social media post on Thursday that President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris “are universally being given POOR GRADES for the way that they are handling the Hurricane, especially in North Carolina.”

Facts First: Trump is wrong. The Biden administration’s response to the hurricane has received bipartisan praise from political leaders in affected states.

That praise has not been universal; there has also been some criticism and some ambivalence. But Trump’s assertion that reviews for the Biden administration’s handling of the crisis have been entirely negative is not true.

And this is just the latest Trump false claim on the subject of the administration’s hurricane response.

On Monday, Trump incorrectly said that Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp hadn’t been able to get Biden on the phone, though Kemp had said the same day that he had already spoken to Biden. And Trump baselessly claimed Monday that the federal government and the Democratic governor of North Carolina, Roy Cooper, were deliberately not helping residents of Republican communities in the state; Trump provided no evidence for the claim when a reporter pressed him about it.

What do you believe FEMA does? They don't have FEMA rescue teams helicoptering in, or emergency crews building thousands of miles of road in an hour. Thats the responsibility of the states involved.

FEMA comes in AFTER the emergency response, during the long term rebuilding stage.

Why are they being such an impediment to those that do have helicopters and crews?

Here's One Reason Why FEMA Is Doing Such a Terrible Job

As with so many things these days, that resilience has eroded to the point that, except in certain areas of the country like Florida, it hardly exists.
You have probably seen many of the same videos I have, in which North Carolina residents are begging for help and wondering where FEMA is. Aside from funding migrants, that is. It seems to be doing a fine job at that, exhausting the funds that should be going to help Helene's victims.

Why is FEMA so awful? Or, should I say, why other than the fact that Alejandro Mayorkas, the most destructive man in America, is in charge of it?

According to FEMA itself, it's #1 priority is no longer responding to emergencies but promoting Diversity, Equity, and inclusion.
As victims are suffering and dying in Appalachia, FEMA is focused on trans migrants of color who may feel uncomfortable getting help from religious organizations.

FEMA is, as with every bureaucracy under the Harris/Biden administration, obsessed with microaggressions, affirming fetishists, and distributing benefits by race. Kamala Harris herself has said that disaster aid should be distributed by race in order to promote equity.

I don't know about you, but I find it disgusting and dispiriting that our federal government is filled with incompetent ideologues and worse. Our health bureaucrats are insane, FEMA is focused on trans migrants, and our Secret Service seems determined to get Donald Trump shot.
It is mystifying that so many Americans are OK with this state of affairs. Are they so driven by partisan hatred that they don't care about their fellow citizens, or just so brainwashed that they don't notice the decline?

But I remember Katrina and its aftermath, and the media was laser-focused on both the real and imagined flaws of the Bush administration's response. This time around, hardly anybody commented on the fact that Joe Biden was on the beach for days during the height of the hurricane.
You would think they would at least feel free to criticize him. He is, after all, a white man.

Commentary:
It appears that Samaratins Purse was first on the ground even before the Red Cross,
Remember it's not just the larger towns like Asheville, Spartenburg, or Augusta
Killing mostly white conservatives, one disaster at a time.
Have we forgotten what was done in East Palestine, Ohio?
There's a story going around that FEMA just bulldozed a village near Ashville.

Even trump fanboy Lindsey Graham has praised Biden's response to Helene. So has Gov. Kemp (R) of GA. trump could be making a positive contribution by encouraging people to give to the relief effort. Instead, he is creating havoc by telling one lie about FEMA after another.

Trump is a DEI hire. Oh…, I mean DIE, as in FEMA won’t exist come (Project) 2025 and future Helene victims will be left to their own devices.

FEMA is one of those organizations that should no longer exist. They are stopping help from getting through and harassing rescuers.

The are there to coordinate & write the checks .

A year after a local flood on my turf took out many homes and businesses, they are still writing checks.

As far as disaster mitigation goes, local responders have adopted L.E.M.P. (Local emergency management plan) , a state mandate allowing them coordination , not the state or feds.

Mutual aid can be any neighbor emergency service(s) , and/or the gov of any given state can declare an emergency along with state guards jumping on it

So the reality is, the feds are only good for their $$$, juxtaposed to them being bankrupt ,making them as useful as >>>>>

Hey Mike, the fund that YOU appropriated doesn’t include the whole of that 20 billion. Only a fraction of it actually.

How do you not know that Mike? YOU passed it

You dishonest ****

October is the start of the federal government’s fiscal year, and a stopgap spending measure approved by lawmakers last month replenished the DRF at last year’s baseline level of $20 billion, though some of that money is reserved for ongoing recovery efforts from previous disasters and projects to mitigate future impacts.

The White House, in a release on Monday afternoon, said FEMA "has sufficient funding to both support the response to Hurricane Milton and continue to support the response to Hurricane Helene -– including funding to support first responders and provide immediate assistance to disaster survivors."
