The attractiveness of an ideology is essentially a matter of contrast.

Marxism/Socialism has become more attractive in recent years because we have mangled Capitalism.

So those screaming MARXISM AAUUGGHH would be smart to look in the mirror, but we all know they won't do that.

Okay. But don't say they didn't warn you.

The best way to determine which system is better and which system is worse, is to look at immigration patterns.

People move out of the bad countries.

People immigrate to the good countries.

Then start a thread on Marxism bs capital ism and keep talking in general terms like this. When you call out a person and organization then point to specifics not platitudes. We don’t live in a black and white world. People can support capitalism with socialist elements. That’s how our country is and we are better for it. If you can talk specifics then it’s a pointless unrealistic conversation

I support a mixed economy.

Marxism is not a mixed economy. Marxism is when private property is abolished.

Examples of mixed economies are Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Denmark. The means of production is privately owned. There is also a generous welfare state. That is nothing like Marxism.

The people of Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Denmark understand that a good parasite never kills its host.

Marxists do not understand this. They want to destroy the host. Without a strong, healthy private sector to fund the tax base, there cannot be the kinds of social welfare programs that people need. The government is very good at redistributing wealth. But when it comes to creating wealth in the first place, there needs to be a strong, healthy private sector. Marxists do not understand this.
