I read the New York Times because it is wide ranging, interesting, and has a very long history of accurate reporting.

I read the Post and the WSJ for the same reason.

The general view is that Teddy Roosevelt split the GOP vote by running as an independent, taking votes away from William Howard Taft. He would have made a good president., although he always preferred to be on the Supreme Court. Herbert Hoover would eventually grant his wish.

Political appointments are short term. Business leaders always do what they can to align with political powers but that’s a management strategy nothing close to the conspiracy that was laid out a few comments ago.
