I really don't know how to add to this, other than the obvious reminder that this adminstration has turned Christianity into a farce.

I feel bad for the non-MAGA Christians who are seeing this done to their religion.

The rest of Hegseth's quote closely mirrors the fictionalized Ezekiel 25:17 Samuel L. Jackson's character, Jules Winnfield, cited before killing a character in "Pulp Fiction."

"There's a passage I got memorized, seems appropriate for this situation: Ezekiel 25:17," Jackson's character said. "The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Hegseth's prayer caught the attention of X and Reddit users, who commented on its parallels with the "Pulp Fiction" line.

Some questioned if the prayer was satire, while others called it "beyond embarrassing."

One can only be so surprised at anything now, but I was a little surprised to see Hegseth go full holy warrior, constantly invoking (his version of) God and breaking into "prayer" at a moment's notice.

You really would think that pretty much everyone would know the world history of combining fundamentalist religion with government and military, but clearly these guys missed that.

1. I could not care less about his theological accuracy.

2. To me, the take away is that this shows that his head is in the right place for a Sec. Of War, ie raining AMERICA'S WRATH onto our enemies.

Religious people are the NORM.

Secular people, are the weird minority.

This entire world, including the advanced technology, that leads us to think that we are more advanced than the people of the past, is primarily a creation of religious people.

"Faith without works is dead" (James 2:14-26). A genuine belief in God means that you have to have good deeds and a kind heart to be saved. Professing that you "believe" is insufficient. True faith is active, transforming one's life, while inactive faith is useless and spiritually lifeless.

You cannot be a Christian and refuse entry to the USA to refugees and those fleeing natural disasters, political upheaval, or dictatorships. You can't just say you're a Christian, you have to "walk the walk" to earn your way into Heaven.
