Okay, here's the problem. The argument made by Hegseth's defenders is that because the police didn't file charges, that makes it okay some how.

Let's get real. There are men in prison for a lot less evidence than they had on Hegseth. They had his DNA and a pretty credible complaint. He got a pass because he was a minor celebrity. White privilege strikes again.

We do a terrible job in this country of prosecuting sexual assault. Less than three percent of rapists are ever put in prison. That the system failed this woman, is not a good reason to give this guy a pass.

Police did not clear him. It was a he said, she said....they had no way of proving she was lying and no way of proving he was lying.... Prosecutors have a very limited budget for trials and do NOT bring charges, unless they are certain they will win, with a jury conviction....there was not enough evidence to bring the accusations, to trial.

He was not CLEARED just because charges were not brought, there wasn't enough evidence for prosecutors to bring it to a trial, under the prosecutor rules....that doesn't clear or convict a person.

But if Hegseth believed the police really cleared him,

then why would he enter in to a non disclosure agreement, and PAY HER AND HER HUSBAND off with hush money?

While drinking at the bar, she approaches Hegseth and gives him some lip about she doesn't like how he treats women........then suddenly makes fuzzy based memory rape claims???

She contradicts herself 2-3 times as to what happened. Says she only had a little champagne at the bar in one report, then she had liquor at the same bar in another. In one she said she 'thought' she might have been slipped something, but shes not sure. Then in a later statement doesn't even mention it.....then more drinks at two different places......just says things got fuzzy......too much boozies?

Claimed in one report, Hegseth was totally nude but claims she saw no Tat's.......then in another, he may have had his shirt on.

Showers next morning.....there goes your rape kit (four days later).............showered each day before going to the hospital. Nurse observes vaginal discharge consistent with women who have multiple sex partners.....she banged Hegseth while her dear hubby was alseep in their hotel room......sweet. And at the end of each report it said no evidence.

So it was forwarded to the DA seven years ago.

I know of no one, who has done such and I doubt you personally know anyone in your circle of friends and family, who has done that, either.

Not sure if it was planned, or if the husband was involved. But her story was not believable and not one witness could corroborate virtually any aspect of story. It's reeks of a false claim, which is why the DA refused to bring any charges.

I can't find any information that he has full custody of this first three children, and this would certainly be unusual. It just says they all live in middle Tennessee.

The alleged assault took place during a Republican women's conference during which Hegseth, President-elect Donald Trump's pick to lead the Department of Defense, was a keynote speaker. In his statement to police, Hegseth said he did have sex with the accuser and corroborated details from her account, but characterized the encounter as consensual.

Hegseth’s alleged victim said she had a drink at a sports bar attached to the hotel before “things got fuzzy,” telling a nurse who administered her sexual assault test that she suspected something was slipped into her drink.

She said she didn’t recall Hegseth leading her to his hotel room, but she “remembered saying 'no' a lot,” and recalled the Fox News host taking her phone from her and blocking her path to the door with his body.

The alleged victim told police her next memory was being underneath Hegseth in his hotel room with the ex-National Guardsman’s dog tags dangling over her face. She added that Hegseth did not wear a condom and ejaculated on her body, details Hegseth confirmed. The victim could not remember how she returned to her hotel room but said she woke up there.
