RIGHT! Obviously YOU never heard of EMTALA have you? Another "FEEL GOOD" let's help the people government program!
Come little one let me educate you in Medicare. PLUS do a little documentation AS I your teacher have done!!!
EMTALA. Emergency Medical Treatment & Labor Act ..
Enacted by the federal government in 1986, requires that hospital emergency departments treat emergency conditions of all patients regardless of their ability to pay and is considered a critical element in the "safety net" for the uninsured, but established no direct payment mechanism for such care. Indirect payments and reimbursements through federal and state government programs have never fully compensated public and private hospitals for the full cost of care mandated by EMTALA.
According to the Institute of Medicine, between 1993 and 2003, emergency room visits in the U.S. grew by 26%, while in the same period, the number of emergency departments declined by 425.

Key phrases in the above.." have never fully compensated public and private hospitals for the full cost of care mandated by EMTALA."
Proof? From a former CEO of a hospital..
"How do hospitals deal with the cost of the uninsured? Like any business, we pass it on to the paying customers.”
From PAGE 1 of this document:

Medicare is sometimes billed 6,000% above costs by hospitals to recoup these costs.
Proof? FACTS!! I have access to a database of 6,000 hospitals and what they BILLED Medicare and what THEIR Costs actually were for the services.
For example: Florida Hospital Tampa 3100 East Fletcher Avenue Tampa, FL 33613
In 2011 they sent Medicare 1,362 claims for doing CAT scans.
Each claim averaged $3,463, i.e. what the hospital billed Medicare... Do you understand? Each claim averaged $3,483.
BUT The hospital's ACTUAL COSTS to perform the CAT SCAN was $57!
a mark up 5,975.44% !!!
Almost 6,000% mark up!
Tell me something you get all bent out of shape reading about insurance companies raising premiums... NOW little one do you understand WHY??
Medicare FORCED hospitals to do as the CEO said.."pass it on to the paying customers."!!
So this is what the future will be... MORE MEDICARE WASTE!
And for what? 4 million people that really WANT health insurance.. NOT 18 million that don't want or need, or 14 million that don't know THEY ARE COVERED or
10 million that are not legal citizens! 42 million people bogusly included in the "46 million uninsured" phony figure !
4 million that is all and it would be so simple to cover them!!!
